Hi, my name is Michelle and i have been a registered childminder since April 2009.
I have two boys of my own aged 13 and 15 years old and live with my husband James, a sales Director and our French Bulldog Winnie. I previously worked in a Nursery and have had lots of experience with children.
I work with my registered assistant Julia who works 3 days a week and has completed her NVQ level 3, various other courses including an autism course and is Paediatric first aid trained and holds an advanced safeguarding course qualification. She has a 9 year old daughter and has worked in nursery’s and nannied for many years.
Ella has finished 2 years of apprenticeship and works 4 days a week, having worked for me since September 2020. She is Paediatric first aid trained and holds an advanced safeguarding qualification.
Keisha is my other assistant who started with us in July 2021 working 3 days a week. She has completed her NVQ Level 3 with us and is paediatric first aid trained and holds an advanced safeguarding certificate. She is also our Designated speech and language specialist.
I have a caring nature and love to experience seeing children learn, grow and develop. I help with this by giving the children opportunity to learn through play indoors, outdoors and in the local community, This includes baking, craft work, messy play, constructive play, gardening, imaginative play and more.
We also go on lots of trips to groups, parks, gymnastics, boogie beats, the nature reserve, picnics, soft play centres and occasional trips to places such as Matlock on the train, conkers and the farm.
We also have Kidslingo French lessons who come into the setting to do an interactive class with the children on a Thursday.
I offer a safe, secure and stimulating setting and follow the Early Years Foundation stage ( EYFS ) helping keep track of where each child is at along their development milestones and helping them achieve their goals.
I also use a online system called babys days in which parents can see their childs online daily diary, daily photos which are uploaded, registers, medical, invoices and all their child's development and observations.
I provide funded spaces 30 hours free per week for all 3-4 year olds and for eligible 2 year olds which can be spread out over the week or used as full days. This can be split between myself and a nursery/pre-school or other setting.
I also accept tax free childcare and childcare vouchers.

I honestly can't praise Michelle and her team enough. My son has been going to Michelle since he was 10 months old (he's now nearly 2).
I was initially nervous about sending him to childcare when he was so little and I had to go back to work, but as soon as I met Michelle I was at ease. Michelle is an absolute natural with the children in her care, and all her staff are likewise. The children are extremely well looked after, played with, fed, and educationally simulated (in a way that is geared towards and appropriate for their age and developmental stage).
The range of activities Michelle does with the kids is amazing. Both creative and educationally stimulating, he is always buzzing about what he's been up to when he gets home. And when he was really little, Michelle and her team always involved him in the activities the big kids were doing, adapted so that he could have just as good an experience!
Our son has gone through - and is going through - some typical toddler phases. Michelle is an old hand (in that she is extremely experienced) but without being old school; she treats him with care and respect, whilst also modelling positive behaviours and boundaries in a gentle and patient yet clear way.
As we are keyworkers, Michelle also had our son throughout the lockdowns; it made me so happy he was still able to engage with other adults and children at a variety of different ages through such an otherwise strange time. Even without lockdowns, I think the blend of ages has been great for our littl'un, and I would not hesitate to recommend Michelle and her team to anyone considering using a childminder over other providers.
My little boy is always excited to go to "Shell's", to see his friends there, and literally runs through the front door without so much as a backwards glance: you can't say much more than that! And on 'baby's days' we get to see photos of him smiling all day long as well!

My little girl absolutely loves going to Michelle's , I feel so confident leaving her each day in the knowledge that she she is well looked after and doesn't want to leave when I go to pick her up. Michelle , Julia and Ella offer a caring environment engaging the children in all sorts of activities and my daughters development has come on in leaps and bounds . I would highly recommend , she is so organised, informative and professional and has dealt with the pandemic amazingly. She is as good as if not better than a nursery environment

My little boy has been going to Michelle’s childminding for 1.5 years since he was 11 months, 3 days a week. He absolutely loves going to play with his friends & comes home very happy after a busy day! Michelle, Julia, Ella & Lisa are all fantastic & I’ve always felt very reassured that he is well looked after.
The app is great for keeping up to date with activities & seeing photos of the day, there’s always so much for the children to do, it’s great

My little boy absolutely loves going to Shells twice a week. It’s so nice to know he’s having so much fun and so we’ll cared for. He speaks so positively of everyone and loves Shell, Julia, Lisa and Ella. It makes work so much easier knowing how happy and safe he is. I found the communication so good too knowing how he is and what he’s doing.

Michelle, Lisa and Julia are 3 genuinely kind, caring and gentle women who do a fantastic job of looking after my daughter,
She comes home every day absolutely full of all the fun things she has been doing and adores the ladies.
I've felt comfortable and confident in their care since day 1 when I left my baby in someone elses care for the first time.
I'd have no hesitation recommending Michelle's to anyone looking for childcare and have already done so to friends!

Both my daughters have been going to Michelle's since they were 6 months old and I truly believe they wouldn't have grown into the confident little people they are if it wasn't for Michelle and her helpers.
My daughters absolutely love it at Michelle's house and enjoy all the different activities which are planned for them each day. They come home every week with different things they have made and tell me about their experiences and what they have learnt that week.
Michelle takes the children on outings on a weekly basis in any kinds of weather, which has also helped my girls get used to the out doors and exploring the world, they love to learn about the world and different cultures, which is something they have learnt from Michelle and her helpers.
They have learnt to interactive with different age groups from being at Michelle's which has helped with their confidence and I believe helps express who they are.
When i leave my daughters each time at Michelle's I know I can be assured that they are in safe loving hands and my daughters love them like they are family. This helps me to not feel so guilty about leaving them and being a hard working mum.

Our little girl went to Michelle for 3 days a week from when she was 9 months old. Michelle and her assistants have been there every step of the way for us in our little ones life and she adores them all like family.
Michelle and her team have always offered a very personalised service that has given our daughter the feeling like she is at home when she is there and this has hugely contributed to her independence and confidence now she is about to turn 3. Michelle is flexible and this has really helped us as a family to go to work and know that our daughter is cared for well and is happy.
Michelle has shown that she had excellent experience and knowledge of the early years curriculum and our daughter has been given the most amazing learning experiences to help her to meet her milestones. She engages in some great craft, play and group experiences at Michelle's which are fantastic. She is shattered on returning from a day with her and her team as she is always on the go and being encouraged to love life!
Michelle provides great holiday activities to keep all the children she cares for happy and engaged and our daughter has experienced many memorable outings with her.
Michelle is great at communicating with us on how our daughter has been on a day to day basis and on how she is doing against meeting her milestones. She uses baby's days which gives us a lovely insight into activities our daughter has been doing through daily photos and comments. She lets us know what she has eaten and we can look at menus well in advance. We find the invoicing, newsletter and development checkers on there so useful.
We would highly recommend Michelle and her team as a fantastic childminders and babysitters.

I have used Michelle since my first born was around 6months old. He has always enjoyed his days with Michelle where they go to groups, play outdoors and indoors and also learn during his time there.
He is now nearly 2 and his younger brother is joining him (also now 6months).
michelle and her assistants are all professional, kind and playful with the children, they are constantly interacting and making sure they are active! She has a great understanding of the children's needs and I feel so confident with the early years learning that she puts into place, we mimic this at home.
We can keep track off his days there through an online system which is totally secure and we find out things such as weekly food menus, to what my cold has been doing during his time there, this can include pictures too!
My partner and I truly believe that Michelle has helped shaped how our 2year old is now and excited for our youngest to begin with them. I would highly recommend.
