About Me

I am a qualified primary school teacher with over 10 years experience in the classroom.


I offer both face to face and online tuition most evenings after school and have some availability on weekends.

I pride myself on the relationships I form with the children I support. I am all about making the children I teach feel comfortable enough to ask questions and make mistakes from which they will learn. My tutees very quickly grow in confidence and grow from strength to strength.

I love making learning fun with games and practical with resources where possible. My tutees look forward to our lessons each week and so do I, I genuinely love what I do.

My specialism is the primary curriculum however I have often been asked to support older siblings in the families I work with and have helped with some KS3 maths quite a bit, particularly for pupils who have some gaps in their primary learning.

I will be with you for a full hour. My lessons are approximately 50 minutes long. Leaving me 10 minutes to speak with you and provide/receive updates with/from you. I know as parents it can be difficult to know how you can support your child with their learning at home. I can help you think about ways you can do this in the best way possible and can occasionally provide homework to help continue the learning at home.

All students will receive access to a range of apps to help with reading/spelling or timetable practise etc. You will receive access to a student portal page where you can make payments, read any post lesson notes and access any further recommended resources I have set. All face to face students will receive a pack with a folder, exercise book(s) and some basic stationary items.

Getting Started with lessons.
I do much prefer to have a chat on the phone with you before getting started with lessons where possible.
The first few lessons will be about getting to know your child and assessing their learning. I’ll also want to spend some time with you in the first lesson to discuss your concerns and perhaps take a look at school reports etc.

With all my tutees I begin by completing my own full assessment in the areas they need support in. This can take a few sessions. My lessons each week are planned based on the information from these assessments.
Although I come with a plan for each session my tutees can still very much guide the topic of the lesson. I’m happy to adapt and look at homework for the week or anything that has come up in the week at school. I come with a range of resources and can adapt my plan accordingly.
I like to tell them to consider me as their own personal teacher for a full hour to ask the questions they haven’t been able to ask in school.
In most cases I always ask my pupils what they would find the best use of time so that our lessons are a collaborative learning experience that is personal to them.
