About Me
Mad Kidz is an OFSTED registered childminders in Hullbridge.
We are open from 7.30am-5.30pm Monday to Friday.
We take children from birth, with spaces for full or term time only, holiday club, before and after school care to riverside primary school only. We accept taxfree vouchers
and all funding including the extended 30 hours funding
We are in a lovely location only a 15 min walk to the local nature reserve to feed the swans, watch the boats on the river or have a stroll through the woods. Along with the library and church for our dancing and acro with Tara at Dance Avenue, located just up the road.
We also have two large vehicles to take the children out for little trips every so often.
At Mad Kidz we have an amazing area situated at the rear of the house. We have two main large cabins which the children have access to and a wide range of resources to follow their own choices. We also set activities up following the children’s interests, next steps and EYFS guidelines. Phonics is a main part of our curriculum, which we teach in a wide range of fun ways including a visit from robot Reg once a week. There is an open space in one of the cabins to do our indoor physical activities like brain breaks, dancing and yoga. There is a smaller cabin that we do a lot of our arts and crafts in, along with a separate sleep room. Between these rooms we have an open outdoor space equipped with climbing frame, trampoline, slide and a soft play area, which the children have access to daily, come rain or shine.
My Experience
I (Michelle) have raised 3 children of my own and two step children, I have been childminding since 2015.
My assistant (Karen) has had 3 children of her own and has several grandchildren, also undertaken autism training. she has been a friend of the family and my neighbour for 20+ years.
My other Assistant (Harry) has been part of the childminding journey from the start being my son, he has hands on experience working in a kids club and his own siblings.
My mum (Jacqueline) is also registered as an Assistant to help cover any holidays or sickness.

My daughter absolutely loves it at mad kidz, she can't wait to go and doesn't want to leave.. She has only been there a few weeks but it like she's been there forever. The staff are amazing, so caring and kind.

My son has been going to Mad Kidz since early 2022 when he was 1 years old and he absolutely loves it there.
He is thriving and he has made the most amazing friends.
It’s like being in a little family, Michelle and the team are amazing.
I turn to Michelle for anything, she is incredibly helpful, personable, supportive and we adore her. We get updated on his progress and love seeing the daily photos of what he has been up to.
The set up is incredible, so much space for the children to roam around and play/learn.
We are so lucky to have found Mad Kidz and I am excited for my daughter to become part of the Mad Kidz family in September.

As an anxious first time mum leaving her baby for the first time, Mad Kidz have been amazing. I have full trust in their knowledge and care. My baby has thrived there and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Lily usually cries when I leave her but she smiles and runs in. Xx

My daughter has been attending Mad Kidz since she was 9 months old, and we’ve had nothing but a positive experience. She absolutely loves her time there and runs in without hesitation every day, which speaks volumes about the warm and welcoming environment. The care and attention she receives is outstanding, and it’s clear that the team genuinely love what they do. We’re already looking forward to her little sister joining in 2026 and feel very lucky to have secured another space :-)
Highly recommend Mad Kidz to any parent looking for a nurturing and fun setting for their child.

We have been using Mad Kidz since 2021 with our son and have also put our daughter in with them as they’re amazing! The kids love going, they learn so much and have so much fun - they’ve taken such good care of them for us and we couldn’t recommend them more.

My son has been going to Michelle since he turned 1. He is nearly 3 and is absolutely thriving. He is supported and encouraged was counting to 10 soon after joining. Michelle has the perfect balance of nursery vs childminder, she teaches them and structures their days to promote learning, she takes them to dance class and acrobatics so they learn so much but with the setting being albeit large, still with the home comforts and the personal touch you'd want for your new baby, they all give my son all the love and attention he would get at home. Highly recommend!

I have been using michelle since around June & I must say there's not many childminders that I trust to look after m son how I would and give him the attention I'd like him to have, he absolutely loves auntie shell and the kidz, he has learnt so much since being there, michelle has really stood in when needed and i feel very at ease. my son absolutely loves coming to see auntie shell and i don't know where i would be without her! Highly recommended, easy going nothing is ever a problem even if i have been stuck she has kindly dropped him off, such a god send for busy parents. Thankyou ever so much auntie shell- and that's not me saying it that's him!

my 2 boys love going to the after school kids club with her in the school holidays and after school. Michelle is so good with the children i never have any worries about leaving them with her.
she has always been very flexible with the hours and days i need her and i have always found her rates extremely competitive.

Great atmosphere for children to learn and play. Constructive ‘learning’ and ‘play’ time to build children’s confidence and social skills. Michelle is always on hand for advice or problem solving and the ‘pick up’ and ‘drop off’ option is a gods send with busy mums and dads.
