My Summary
About Me
I am a registered childminder with a BA (Hons) degree in childhood and youth studies. I have been minding for 30 years
I live in a detached house in Spalding and am passionate about childminding. Children are a joy and I believe in helping them reach their full potential in life. I have a wide variety of toys suitable for all ages and also have a large outdoor undercover area which allows children to play outside in all weathers. I work within the guidelines of the EYFS and I provide each child with a learning journey where we collate developments and photos of their time within my setting.
My Experience
I have many years of experience working with children. I have worked with The NCH children in action, and have worked with children who have a variety of needs. I have cared for children with ADHD and autism so I am aware of the importance of specific needs. I keep up to date with training and work in partnership with parents to provide the best possible care for their children. I am in contact with other settings who equally believe in the importance of the holistic development of children and support to parents. I provide a home from home environment and will try to do things with your child that you would do in your home. The children will be encouraged in their development and will be given the opportunity to experience and understand the world around them. we participate in a wide range of activities such as, toddler groups, farms parks, woods, parks, garden centres, and enjoy seasonal activities such as Christmas, visits to winter wonderland is a popular attraction and exciting for the children. I offer a wide range of out and about activities giving all children in my care new experiences of the world around them. I believe its important for all children to get as much fresh air and exercise as possible so as a setting we enjoy being outside, doing things in the environment such as, bug hunting, running, climbing, and generally playing etc. I have experience in working with children where English is an additional language over the years I have been minding I have worked with families from many cultures such as, polish, Lithuanian, Czech, French and Spanish.

Jan has had both of my daughters since the age of 5 months. Both girls have been happy to go and in fact Jan actually takes them out more places than we do.. She is very thorough with her paperwork and stage reviews and even worked around school pick-up when my daughter got sent to a different primary school. She has also been flexible as my husband and I work awkward shift rotas. Her rates are also reasonable.

I am so so pleased and releved that I chose Janet to look after my son. She is fantastic! She is kind, caring and loving as well as firm but fair. He has a whale of a time there, she does so much with him like going to the farm, playing in the paddling pool, going to park, having a picnic, feeding the ducks, making cards, etc, just to name a few! She's helps to promote his independence and self help skills as well as giving him the opportunity to socialise and interact with other children. My son adores Janet and gives her lots of cuddles kisses, which speaks volumes to me. I love the fact she keeps a detailed learning journey of his progress with lots of photos, and even texts me photos of him if I enquire how he is through the day. My son brings home a communication book daily, so I know exactly how much he's eaten, slept, nappies activities etc which is brilliant! Nothing is too much trouble for Janet, and it's obvious just how much she thinks of the children in her care. I wouldn't want my son anywhere else!
