About Me

I am looking for a enthusiastic and positive person who would be interested in working as a 1-2-1Teaching Assistant for a 5 year old currently attending a reputable private mainstream school. The child has a diagnosis of verbal dyspraxia and needs assistance with completing academic tasks, including classroom activities.

The ideal candidate should have experience in working with children who have additional needs although specific speech and language training is not required as the candidate will be working under the supervision of the child's speech and language therapist. Implementing strategies and interventions as outlined in the child's EHCP will be the candidates main objectives. The candidate will also be required to maintain regular communication with the student’s parents, teachers, and SEN staff to provide updates on the student’s progress and address any issues or concerns in a timely manner.

The candidate will be required to work during term time only when the student is present in school. The schedule may vary depending on the student’s attendance, school holidays, and other factors impacting the student’s presence at school.

Recruitment and vetting will be done via the school who will offer the contract of employment. Working conditions are good (facilities are outstanding and financial benefits are above average). The classrooms are small (only 10 students) and the teachers and support staff very friendly.
