About Me

We are a very fun and social family looking for a nanny to fit into and become part of our family - including use of swimming pool, gym and all amenities of our home.
We have young boys of 12 and 10 years. Both attend school throughout the week and my eldest boards on a Thursday and Friday evening…:

My Requirements

Live Out Nanny

We are based in Stansted Abbotts, Herts and are looking for a part time fun, flexible individual to care for our two children and help organise the children’s schedules.

Both children have a strict bedtime routine and are in bed and sleep from 915/930pm in term time ( and slightly later in school holidays) they wake around 630/7am each day.
My eldest son is at boarding school 2 nights a week ( Thurs and Friday night) so care would only be required for 1 child on a Thurs and Fri in term time.

Both boys are very self sufficient however They will need their dinner made for them each night. Some help with homework, bags packed for school, uniform and PE kits organised, and on some evenings drop off and pick ups to and from their sports commitments after school.

The youngest will also need to be collected from his prep school each afternoon ( I will normally collect the eldest from his school.)

Once back home from the school run, uniforms will need to be washed along with PE kits and everything organised for the following day. This does require someone who is extremely organised as they would need to be on top of the school schedules and various school activities.

The boys spend a lot of time gaming, playing football and hanging out with each other so it’s more general supervision rather than having to do activities with them. We are also looking for someone who would enjoy getting involved and playing with them occasionally, whether it be playing in the garden, throwing some darts with them, cooking and baking, going for walks or playing the odd board game!

We tend to travel most school holidays so this would be free time for the successful candidate. However we may have 1 or 2 half terms at home and working hours required would be similar to those of non term time. ( just a slightly earlier start.)

Cleaning down after cooking and keeping the boys bedroom and playroom tidy a would also be required within the role . The boys laundry and changing their bedding once a week, plus out their wardrobes when needed. We have a cleaner who comes three times a week ( she does the main cleaning and changes bedding etc) but all other days we would require the areas the you are spending most of the time with the boys to be kept clean and tidy. Also managing and directing cleaners/Maintence personal that come to the house.

Realistically nanny will work 26 hrs in school term time but could be around 30/35 hrs per week in any school holidays we are at home. ( this is normally the two of the half term holidays - May and Oct and a few weeks if the summer holidays.)

Occasionally we may need last minute flexibility with hours but would make sure it worked for both of us and are very fair.

All expenses inc petrol, lunches and dinners if working are included. Nanny must have own car and clean driving license.

Typical weeks work in term time. ( we can be flexible with hours and start times and nothing is set in stone.)
Mon: 1pm - 7pm
Tues: 2pm - 8pm
Wed: 2pm - 8/830pm
Thurs: 2pm - 8pm
Fri: 2/3pm - 7pm.

Typical weeks work ( this is not set in stone and we can be flexible with hours) in school holidays - would be around 35-40hrs max. The boys have 9 weeks holiday in the summer and normally travel for 5 of these weeks so this is additional time nanny would get off. Plus we are normally away 3/4 weeks at Christmas and 2/3 weeks at Easter. (We travel for the whole Christmas period.)

Occasionally we may also need last minute flexibility with hours but would make sure it worked for both of us.

some overnight stays including a couple of weekends a year would be required but we would pay overtime for this and would be agreed in advance ( Max 3/4 a year.)

I/the boys mum am a stay at home mum although I am in and out lots and can help with picks and drop offs to clubs etc there will be more often times you will have sole responsibility.

candidate will need to have DBS check, provide reference, and also have first aid.
Plus be motivated and see this as a career. We really are looking for the right person to be with us for the next 5 years. The role will adapt slightly as the boys get older…

Our current nanny is very good and I will be looking for someone like her however she has two young boys and is struggling to juggle looking after them with the hours we need.

If you think you may be interested or have any questions please message me.

Clare.
