My Summary
About Me
Hello, I'm Nicola,
I now have space from April 2024, so please get in touch.
I've worked in childcare since obtaining my NNEB (childcare level 3) certificate in 1996. So for over 25 years I've been working as a daily nanny looking after children/families in their own homes. I hung up my nannying reins after the birth of my second child and since 2018 I have been a (GOOD) Ofsted registered Childminder.
I live in Addlestone (bordering Weybridge) with my husband and two children who were born in 2014 and 2016 and our dog, Rusty. From Sept 2020 both my children will be in school in Weybridge.
Our road is lovely and quiet with some great neighbours.
We have extended our house giving us a wonderful open playroom that leads onto our large secure garden filled with swings, climbing frame and built in sandpit and a large cabin for loads more fun.
In April 2024 my husband (Colin) of ten years, will be coming on board and joining us as an assistant childminder. He will be bringing more fun, laughter and adventure (his words) to our setting. He has a full enhanced DBS, Safeguarding and first aid also a suitability letter from Ofsted. He has worked as a Graphic Designer in London for over 30 years and is looking for a better work life balance for our family.
We look forward to hearing from you, please see our website below

My Experience
Since 1996 I have nannied for eight families.
Those families consisted of between one and four children, that I had sole charge/care off between the hours of 7am - 7pm.
The ages of the children ranged from birth to 10 years old.
Throughout working with these families I have experienced caring for children with varying special need and dietary requirements. Such as, a child needing hearing aids due to severe glue ear, eczema, ADHD, Dyslexia, severe multi nut and egg allergies requiring Epi-Pens, Coeliacs disease and dairy free diets.
I've had to work very closely with the parents in following strick routines and procedures to help the children in my care.
I have written references from my previous nanny employers that id be happy to share with you and i know i have some reviews on here from current/previous familes.
I started my childminding business in 2018 and have loved the children and their families i have cared for.
I gained a grading of GOOD in my first Ofsted inspection in October of 2021.
I am always up to date with my training, be if safeguarding children and their families and my first aid. I enjoy keeping up to date and expanding my knowledge where possible.
Since Covid, Colin has been working from home a couple of days a week. Everytime he pops down for a cuppa the children enjoy talking with him and he often finds himself playing alongside us or reading a book to the children before he goes back to his desk. Because of this we feel he will be a great asset to our working day and a real benefit to the children.

Our daughter has been with Nicola for nearly 2 years, and we couldn't be happier! She is our 2nd daughter to be lucky enough to get a space in her setting, and I just wouldn't want it any other way!
There is a fantastically homely feeling about the setting, and my daughter often laughs about how much fun she's had with the whole family! For activities, she sets up tuff trays, full of creative opportunities for improving fine motor skills and language; takes the children on outings to broaden their experiences; and out into the garden (which is full of exciting things, like a mud kitchen, sandpit and swings!) She always sends photographs of the day, which is really helpful for supporting discussion with my little girl - when she sees them, she can always tell me what she's been up to! Like a real-life Mary Poppins, Nicola provides healthy snacks and meals, embeds naptime routines, and supported with toilet training; she thoroughly understands my child and what she needs, and I couldn't recommend her highly enough.
We feel so lucky to have found such an amazing Childminder. Our daughter started going to Nicola's 5 months ago, when she was 8 months old, and settled in right away. From the start, we were completely confident that she was really well looked after and having lots of fun! Nicola has excellent communication and always lets us know how our daughter is getting on throughout the day. We look forward to the updates on WhatsApp and seeing the many activities she has taken part in and the different outings she has been on. Our daughter loves going to Nicola’s house and we would definitely recommend her!
Our little boy had just turned one when he started with Nicola 5 months ago. He settled in straight away with lots of activities on offer, days out, outside activities, a wide range of toys and learning opportunities as well as the interaction with other children. There is a nice set up in Nicola’s home with lots of toys, arts and crafts, tuff trays with organised activities, role play areas etc. which our son enjoys. He was a non-Walker when he started and he was still able to access the full range of activities with support.
Nicola caters for our son’s cmpa, which provides us with complete peace of mind. The food he is offered is brilliant, it is healthy and homemade.
There is excellent communication, we get regular updates including photographs which are lovely and allow us to see how he is getting on. Nicola is always happy to discuss how his day has been or to address any questions we might have and offers good flexibility.
We couldn’t be happier with our childcare choice for our little boy, we are confident that he is safe, happy and well looked after. We feel he has progressed so much since he started and that is down to Nicola!
Our little boy has been with Nicola for 2 years and we couldn’t wish for better childcare.
He visits so many nice places and does lots of different activities each week, he loves it. We love receiving updates from Nicola with pictures of their day.
When he is at Nicolas I think he feels like part of their family.
His speech and counting is really good for his age which is a testament to Nicola.
My little girl (20 months) absolutely loves going to Nicola's house. They have so much fun every day!
She is fab in so many respects, but some particular favourites of ours include: the tonnes of themed activities that she puts together based on the children's interests; the range of exciting and well-thought-out arts and crafts that she organises; and her amazingly well-kitted-out garden.
I look forward to the daily photo updates that Nicola sends. Not only do these brighten my day, but they really help me to talk to Hollie about what she's been up to when I collect her, which she absolutely loves.
Both cognitively and socially, Hollie has developed so much since being in Nicola's care, and I am so pleased we found her - I'd highly recommend her as a childminder.
