About Me
Hi! My name is Amanda and I am married and live with my husband, daughter and our son. The children who attend my setting are treated like a part of our family and all my current children have been with me for a long time. I feel that I provide a happy, fun, loving and safe environment for children to grow and learn at their own pace.
I have created a cosy space for the children to feel at home and comfortable. I use lots of natural materials and resources to encourage imaginative play and social development. We have a large back garden with play equipment, plenty of space to play and we’re very lucky to see a lot of wild life. Children have access to a good range of books, toys and educational resources to suit all stages.
I attend various toddler groups, and co-run a toddler group with 3 other childminders. We visit libraries, rhyme sessions and we regularly go to visitor centres and country parks to explore the outdoors. We spend a lot of time outdoors all year round and often meet up with other childminders and their children. We enjoy doing lots of art and craft activities as well as baking and cooking together.
I observe and assess children's learning and development each day through free play and activities, in line with EYFS and this information is available to parents.
My Experience
As well as bringing up my own four children I have eight years experience of working in schools supporting children with SEN and I have been a registered childminder for over 13 years. I also have experience of working with children with disabilities and have SENCO training.
My Qualifications
I have qualifications in childcare and SEN at levels 2 and 3 as well as the required First Aid and Safeguarding training.
My Availability
My hours of work are usually 7.30-5.30, Mon-Fri but there is room for flexibility .

Our children have been looked after by Amanda for the last 6 years and they love coming! From the moment their picked up, it’s to tell me all the fun they’ve had that day. I felt guilty going back to work but knowing that the children are safe and happy makes it easier!
They come home with lots of different arts & crafts and even the odd spare baking for me :)
They love the outdoor daysout, especially daisynook! It really is a home from home, our extended family!
