About Me
I am a registered Childminder working alongside a co-childminder and an experienced childcare assistant. We run a daycare facility called Riverside Rascals, Riverside Rascals focusses on outdoor play and we are situated on a Nature Reserve, Ivel Springs in Baldock.
I have worked with children from birth to 16 years for a total of 16 years. I trained staff of all nationalities on how to work with children of all ages and abilities, created activities for each age group overall making learning experiences fun and exciting.
I see the benefits of having them play and learn outdoors with nature. I take the children to feed the ducks, rabbits and peacocks, who all visit us regularly. We also look after 5 chickens and 2 turkeys. We go to see the horses at the stables and have tours to find out more about these beautiful animals.
It is exciting for the children and exploring the woodlands is something I wish for every child. The experiences are invaluable to their development and health and something I offer on a daily basis at Riverside Rascals.
My Experience
I am qualified to Level 3 in childcare and have worked with children for the last 15 years overseas with a leading tour operator of TUI. I have been a childcare Manager for 7 years and have a vast amount of experience working with all ages of children from 0-16 years. My responsibilities included writing our policies & procedures, creating an international activity manual meeting the EYFS for early years and writing our complete training for all staff working in Childcare which included online training. Before working with TUI I had worked in America looking after children with SEND and for a short period experienced working in a Nursery. I have been a childminder for 18 months.

Sarah is passionate about creating a interactive learning environment for children. The setting is wonderful with great opportunity for outdoor and indoor play.
Both of my daughters adore Sarah and are very excited to go there. The large room is filled with different and authentic themes.
I worried about my youngest daughter being shy but Sarah has worked wonders, completely understanding her needs; experience and attention that she may not have got in other local provisions.
I would highly recommend Sarah and her woodland/farm setting.

Both our kids love being at Sarah’s.
Every week Sarah has a different theme planned. One week it was space, with rockets and space food !! The next week it was rescue services with fire & police costumes. The next it was nature trails and insects and wildlife. There are always loads of educational toys & activities planned to go along with the weeks theme.
You can tell Sarah genuinely loves what she does, and has so much energy, passion and flare for it.
I’m consistently impressed with the fun ideas she comes up with & how much energy she brings with her.
Our kids love it at Sarah’s so much that most weekends our kids ask if they can go to Sarah’s house !! :-)
I genuinely can’t say enough nice things about what a great person Sarah is, and what a wonderful & fun environment she provides for our children.
