About Me
My name is Joann and I am the main childminder for Tiny Monsters, I have been Childminding for the past 9 years, and before that I worked in a nursery for approx. 12 years as a assistant manager. My husband, Mike, joined me 3 years ago, whilst he is studying to become an Early years teacher.
We have 2 fantastic children of our own, one who is 13 and at secondary school and out other who is 11 and will be going to secondary school in September 2021.
I am registered with Ofsted and have been graded GOOD in my last inspection. Full report can be found on their web page. I am also listed on the Southampton Information Directory (SID) under Joann Curry.
We accept all forms of government funding and voucher schemes.
We make the most of all weather at Tiny Monsters and actively venture out on outings and adventures daily. Going to local parks, woods and various trips (all included in the price). Trips such as Paultons park, Boat rides and so much more. We, celebrate various cultural events throughout the year and take part in activities relating to them.
We are happy to look after babies, through to they start secondary school. With many of our afterschool children having been with us since they were in nappies.
We currently cover Weston and Thornhill for before and after school collections and are happy to accommodate ‘shift patterns’ if needed (please call to discuss)
We are fully insured, first aid trained (both), hold a food and hygiene level 3 and everything else you would expect to find in a childcare professional. (other qualifications below)

Jo has been looking after my boys for the last year, started with my eldest when he was 3 and then my baby when he was 4 months. Jo has helped me out massively as a parent and as a friend! My boys love going and m eldest tells me about everything that he’s done. I recommend Jo and Tiny monsters to anyone looking for a fabulous and reliable childminder. I can not rate her high enough!

Jo has been caring for my daughter since she was 8 months old, she is now 4 and starting School in September.
From the start Jo makes you feel at ease, she cares for each child equally and gives a detailed evaluation at the end of the day, I.e. how they've been in themselves, how much they've eaten, nappy changes etc (again, for each child)
When the weather is good Jo makes sure they're outside enjoying it, even if it rains they're sometimes out jumping in puddles. She attends many playgroups and takes the children on outings during the holidays, they do lots of arts and crafts, learn about different subjects (Chinese New Year, Ocean, Body to name a few). I am so sad that my daughter cannot stay with Jo when she starts school.
Please note, I cannot rate Food as I supply my daughters lunch and dinner.
