Hi I’m Lesley.
I am Ofsted registered, paediatric first aid trained with experience of babies and young children.
I currently live in Aldershot with my husband John, who works along side me as my assistant, he holds a NVQ level 3 in childcare. We work out of a purpose built cabin called “The Monkey House”. This provides a safe environment for the children in our care. We have a pet Tortoise called Mac Beth she is 18 years old. We enjoy exploring outside as much as possible, art and crafts, I personally love making things with the children. Visits to toddler groups, library etc. The setting is a fun place to be, healthy eating is promoted. We provide a safe and stimulating environment for children to grow and nurture, gain independence with support, both outside and inside activities on a daily basis. Lots of free natural play/learning encouraged.
My Experience
I have over 30 years experience working with children as a childminder. I left childminding to work with children and families supporting them in schools. After this I turned to Fostering for many years.
My Qualifications
Teaching degree Cert-Ed, NVQ in childcare Level 3, Certificate in Understanding Autism Level 2, Mental health in children 0 to 19 years Level 2, Frist Aid, EYFS, Impact on Children during Lockdown, Food Hygiene, Safeguarding, Prevent, Advanced Child protection. Special Educational Needs, Working in Partnership, Supporting early language development, improving children’s learning through play, Supporting children with SEND in the early years, The SEND code of practice, ADHD Awareness, Teaching 1 & 2 year olds, teaching 3 & 4 year olds, Promoting Positive Behaviour, Dyslexia Awareness, Reflective Practice, Teaching Boys and Girls, Child development, BSL Level 1,

Lesley and John have been absolutely fantastic! My son Harrison, adored his time with them and we were super sad to have to leave them when we moved. They are kind, caring and so knowledgeable when it comes to early years education. The monkey hut is a lovely space for the children and it's just got such a home from home feel. Harrison constantly asked to see them and was excited to go every morning. I cannot recommend them enough. Not only are they wonderful childminders, they are wonderful people, who care a lot for the children within their setting. I cannot thank them enough for the educational start they have given my son. If we hadn't moved out of the area, he would have stayed until he went to school, as they are just amazing.

Thank you Hannah and Tom it was a pleasure to look after Harrison, he brought fun and laughter to the setting and was so kind and friendly to all that attended. We look forward to updates on his progress, and visit when back in the area. Best of luck( we do miss him)
