Hey families, I'm Nanny Casey. I am currently booked all day Monday & Tuesday for the foreseeable. I am currently looking for another 1 or 2 day position / or regular ad hoc families in and around East Barnet.
*It is probably best to mention early that as a confident & competent Nanny, I work best with families who (once the role/routine has been explained fully) give their Nanny autonomy over the role, trusting & allowing them to carry the role out without micromanagement.*
I have 17 years experience of working with children aged 0-10 years and find myself to be a motivated, calm, confident and above all passionate individual that aspires to be a successful Early Years child carer. I am extremely passionate about the well-being, learning and development of any child in my care and strive to be the best and give my all and more. I take my role serious and remain professional whilst being fun and energetic at the same time :) I like to believe I am adaptable, have common sense and use my own initiative in my role. As your Nanny you can expect a good sense of humour, lots of photos & a balanced mix of playful learning at home and outdoor adventures!
My interest in Childcare began when I studied GCSE Child Development, this led to me babysitting for family and friends. At the age of 19 I began my career in early years settings where I gained experience of working with children aged 2-5 years from all walks of life. During this time I attended MANY types of training including makaton, forest school, early literacy and making mathematics fun however my main passion is providing learning opportunities through play based on the individual child’s interests. After 10 years in nurseries and making my way up to room leader in both settings, I decided to become a Nanny as I wanted to focus fully on the children and not paperwork. So far in my Nanny experience I have worked with over 15 families, ages ranging from new born to 10 years, this has included full time, part time & ad hoc.
I have been a freelance Ad Hoc & Temporary Nanny since 2021. What is that & why would I need one I hear you ask... As an Ad Hoc Nanny I provide childcare on a:
- TEMPORARY
- AS & WHEN
- NOW & THEN
- OCCASIONAL
- FLEXIBLE basis
(although I am happy to also offer set days for the right roles)
You may already have childcare sorted or no need for regular help, but I can be contacted if:
- current Nanny is on leave
- a family emergency
- school & nursery closures/inset days
- last minute work commitments
- dinner plans/date nights
- self care days
The services I offer are:
- Day time Nannying for ages 0-5 years (long days or mornings preferred)
- Occasional evening babysitting for ages 0-10 years
As if being an Ad Hoc Nanny isn’t cool enough, I also bring my little apprentice along to work with me during the day in the form of my son born in July 2023. I am in the process of finding good, quality childcare for him (very hard to find when you know exactly how this should look) but until then he comes complete with everything he needs for a day at work including food, toys, double pram & portable high chair. There are so many benefits to me bringing my own child to work with me but I wont bore you with the reasons why here. If you are open to this I would love to share how a Nanny with own child would be a HUGE benefit to your family.
My goal is to build long term relationships with families, therefore I do not take on emergency or one off bookings with families I have not met prior. This is also to safeguard all involved. I am always happy to take on new clients whether you need me ASAP or as a back up option for the future.

My Experience
- Part time Nanny for 15 month old boy, with my own son (Nov 2024 - present)
- Part time Nanny for 12 month old boy, with my own son (May 2024 - Feb 2025)
- Became a Mum (from July 2023)
- Ad hoc/temp Nannying with various local families ages ranging from 2months-6years (Oct 2021-present)
- Nanny for 8 month old boy/new born twin girls born Feb 2021 (Mar 2019-August 2021/Nov 2022-May 2023).
- Part time Nanny for brothers aged 2 & 4 (Feb 2018-Jan 2019).
- Part time Nanny for 10 month old girl (Sept 2018-Jan 2019).
- Part time Mothers help for 6 month old twins (May 2018 - Mar 2019).
- Part time after school pick up for 5 year old twins & 10 year old (Jan 2018 - Jun 2018).
- 10 years in day care settings all rated as "good" by OFSTED making my way up to room leader.
- After school club work with 5-10 year olds.
- Volunteered with a Brownie group for 3 years.
- Babysitting from the age of 16 (new born to early teenage years).
My Qualifications
NVQ 2 & 3 Children's Care, Learning and Development.
Certificate of Higher Education in Early Years (Level 4).
Paediatric first aid trained.
Child protection.
Level 2 food safety.
I regularly attend webinars, training courses & conferences. Full list of my CPD can be found on my CV.
I hold public liability insurance with NannyInsure & have a DBS on the update service.
My Availability
An initial phone/video call with families is needed before taking on any work, to get to know each other a little better & to explore your needs. Prior to the call I will send over the Nanny Casey bio. If both parties are happy to move forward, we can then arrange a one hour meet & greet with yourself & child at a spot convenient to you. I come to this alone so you can meet me as a professional & not a mum. If we agree we are a fit, we then arrange another 1 hour playdate with my son.
Please be aware I cannot undertake any work without my T&C’s filled out fully.

My Fees
- Babysitting from £16.00 per hour
- Nannying from £18.00 per hour (gross)
Ad hoc/Temp work:
DAYTIME NANNYING with my son £18ph / without £20ph / weekends £22ph
EVENING BABYSITTING From £16ph
Please notes my fee's take into account the tax & pension that I pay as a self employed worker, this price is non negotiable.
50% non refundable booking fee is required to secure any hours/days requested.
I charge a minimum of 3 hours (4 hours if travel is needed).

Nanny Casey was an absolute lifesaver for my family and I. I got in touch with her after my second baby was a few months old and I needed a few hours a week to run errands and catch up with work, and Casey came to my rescue. My baby absolutely LOVES her and I felt completely secure leaving him in her care. She was wonderful with him, kept him stimulated with age-appropriate activities and helped with weaning as well which was fantastic. I feel very lucky to have found her and I can't recommend Casey more highly - she is the best!

Casey joined us when my twin boys were 2. She’s been with us now for a couple of months and since her arrival the boys have flourished! I can only echo the words of the other reviews and add.
Casey was able to quickly understand both boys as individuals, picking up well on their preferences and needs; whilst bringing her creative flair adding to their lives. She has been amazing at organising the boys toy box and encouraged toy rotation to help engage and drive the boys development.
What sets her apart from others is she is not afraid of mess and cleaning it all up, in fact she encourages it! She’s organised and brings activities with her that she knows will grab the attention of the boys individually. She is involved not just when she is working but takes an interest in the boys even when she isn’t. She is passionate about learning and I can see the wealth of knowledge she has gathered over the years when she engages with the twins.
Casey is someone who is a true childcare professional and has opened my eyes to the difference the right childcare can make to the growth and development to the boys. I highly recommend Nanny Casey!

Casey was always full of ideas on how to make time with our girls fun. They warmed to her instantly and she has a real skill of meeting children on their level.
Casey is most definitely a self-starter who is able to craft a daily itinerary that's varied with a large focus on play and getting outside.
Not only that, but Casey was really helpful in helping with my overflowing laundry basket; putting a wash on a folding clothes while my smallest baby napped.
Casey is warm, honest and ambitious, and clearly cares so much about the profession she's in.

As soon as we met Casey we knew she was right for our family. My nearly 2 year old and nearly 1 year old warmed to her instantly! While Casey was with us (we moved too far away!) Thole kids loved going to different playgrounds , singing songs playing games and Arts and Crafts with her. She has definitely been missed!

Casey is a lovely Nanny, our 2 year old daughter took to her straight away, it was like they’d known each other for ages! Casey was great at entertaining our daughter and making sure she was fed and changed regularly. Would definitely use Nanny Casey again :-) xx

We were looking for someone who could help out with babysitting on an ad hoc basis for a long time but just couldn't find anyone we felt 100% comfortable with until we saw Casey's profile. She was very professional and we really connected from the first contact and zoom call. She looked after our kids (4yo and 2yo) a couple of times and we are already looking at booking more sessions. She is kind, patient, imaginative, very experienced, and knowledgeable. The kids had a wonderful time and we felt safe and comfortable leaving them in Casey's care.

Casey started working with us when our son was 8 months old and since then she has really has become part of our family. She is extremely imaginative, ensuring Milo always has fun things to do or see. She talks or sings to him all the time, which has noticeably helped his vocabulary and development, and the two of them seem to be the best of friends, with other mums and nannies actually commenting on the special bond they have formed. She really goes above and beyond, including keeping a scrap book of all of Milo’s adventures, and my husband and I repeatedly comment on how lucky we all are to have found her!

Casey has been looking after my twin girls one morning a week for almost 10 months.
Casey is bright, friendly, attentive and full of life. She’s a pleasure to be around and my girls love her. I trust her completely, my twins have so much fun in her company and I always have two very happy little girls every time she looks after them.

Casey very kindly stepped in at short notice to look after our two year old boy when our usual nanny was ill. She arrived on time and was friendly and personable. My son enjoyed his day with Casey, he had a lot of fun playing at home and going to the park. My impression of Casey is that she is reliable, responsible and professional and I would definitely use her services again.
