The best decision we ever made

Carmen is quite simply incredible. She’s warm, kind and nurturing, cooks delicious home made food and has become what feels like a second mama to our son.
It’s hard enough leaving your child in someone’s care but she makes it so much easier and it feels like a home from home. From a mother to another.
She’s so accommodating for all needs, requests and last minute issues that arise and always puts herself out there to help and support.
Raffy is with her 5 days a week and has been since he has been 9 months old. He is 3 now and ready to start nursery but feel so much anxiety and sadness about having to say goodbye. She’s played such an important and unforgettable role in his childhood and we will be forever grateful for her.

Carmen - The Right Choice

Carmen became our childminder in January 2023, when we had just moved to the neighborhood. In unfamiliar circumstances she helped us feel comfortable and settled. Our eldest was in nursery, which ended at 3pm and so needed to be picked up and our youngest was 10 months old and needed full time care.

Far from being just an after school childminder, Carmen became that full time care - and she was certainly the right choice. She forged an incredibly strong bond with the young one, helping teach him early years skills like walking, good sleeping patterns, eating solid food, and how to play properly with his bigger brother, and other kids of different ages who would be in her house after school. Likewise, our eldest was always happy to be at her house, eating, playing and learning with his brother.

As our needs have evolved she has been understanding and flexible, and has always been there for us. Our young one now attends one day a week, but still thinks of it as the highlight of his week. And when we need help over half term holidays or in emergencies, she often steps up to host the boys, giving them care, play and learning exercises to entertain them and keep their minds ticking over.

In many ways she has become an extension of our family. As a total professional, we can recommend her in the highest possible terms, without hesitation.

Review for Our Baby's Childminder: Carmen

We are thrilled to share our experience with Carmen, our baby’s childminder over the past six months. From the moment we entrusted her with our little one, we could tell that we made the right choice. Our baby has truly thrived under Carmen’s care, becoming notably more independent and confident.

Carmen creates a warm and welcoming environment that encourages socialization. Our baby has the opportunity to interact with other children at school pick ups and playgroups, which has been fantastic for her development. We love that every time we drop her off, she greets Carmen with a smile. It’s clear that the bond they've formed is genuine.

Carmen provides a variety of weather-appropriate activities that keep our baby engaged and entertained, including local playgroups that enrich her social experience.

One aspect we really appreciate is Carmen’s commitment to keeping us in the loop. She takes plenty of pictures and videos throughout the day, allowing us to share in the little moments and milestones our baby is achieving.

Carmen's personable demeanor, boundless energy, and fun sense of humor make her a joy to be around. Communication has always been smooth, and we feel comfortable discussing our baby’s needs.

She is very accommodating when it comes to food preferences too and when we need an extra hour here or there.

In summary, we cannot recommend Carmen highly enough as a childminder. Her influence has been instrumental in our baby’s growth, independence, and confidence. Carmen treats the children as one of her own, showering them with plenty of love and cuddles, which creates a safe and nurturing environment. We feel incredibly fortunate to have found someone so dedicated and loving to care for our child. Thank you, Carmen, for everything you do!

So pleased we found Carmen!

Our daughter has been with Carmen for over 6months now and she is very happy with her. Our daughter gets a lot of care and attention, being only one of a few young children during the day. She also enjoys seeing the school children at the start & end of the day. We are so pleased we found Carmen; she is a very kind, caring, warm and understanding person. I feel completely at ease leaving my daughter with her when I go to work and feel like she is an extension of our family. Carmen is easy to communicate with and is flexible to meet our child’s needs in terms of naps/food/other needs. Her home is a loving, family environment and we like that she goes out everyday to parks, playgroups and in the local area. We’d highly recommend Carmen to anyone looking for childcare.
