About Me
I am a registered childminder and have been childminding since 1990. I live with my husband,my grown up daughter and granddaughter and young step son. We have a very child friendly home and offer a warm welcome to all the children and their families. We have a play room with an extensive range of toys and resources for all ages and interests, the children also play in the lounge/dinner and we use the large kitchen area for eating and all our arts,crafts, cooking and messy play. The kitchen opens onto a decking area which allows the children to play outside all year round. The large garden provides a safe area for the children to play and explore with a wide range of outdoor equipment. A large drive area at the front enables parents to drop off and pick up their children safely.
I provide a reliable, flexible service caring for under 5’s and offer holiday cover for those children once they start school. I can also pick up from local pre schools.
I take all salary sacrifice vouchers as payment and am able to accept 2yr old and 3/4yr old entitlement funding. I aim to provide all the children with the opportunity to develop at their own pace, to feel valued and secure and to build up self esteem and confidence in themselves. They are encouraged to think of each other and make good friendships that often last long after they have left.
My daughter is registered as my assistant and helps out when I have more children. We enjoy lots of days out and outings to parks,the beach,and children friendly farms. We regularly visit soft play areas and attend weekly toddler clubs and singing groups.
I enjoy childminding as much now as I did in the beginning, watching the children grow and develop is extremely rewarding. I consider myself very fortunate to be doing a job that I thoroughly enjoy.
My Experience
I have 2 children of my own, step children and grand children. I have been childminding for nearly 30 years which has included offering respite care to families with children who suffer from epilepsy. I worked at playschools before childminding and ran a brownie group for 10 years.
