Hi and thank you for taking the time to look at my profile.
I'm currently looking to change career path and go back to nannying to support parents and help their child/children flourish.
I can work under pressure, hands on and have been told by colleagues 'I'm the calm in the storm' when difficult situations may arise. I build positive relationships with parents, whom become friends and I'm happy to do additional tasks where needed.
I can think outside the box with activities and I'm proactive in my approach.
I'm a mum to three boys under 9 (Pleanty of baby and toddler experience!). I love to explore and find new and interesting things to do and don't mind getting mucky in the process (we live on a farm, used to being mucky with chickens and dogs!).
I hold my Cache working with children and young people diploma-level 3 and studied at Brighton University (intermitted).
I hold a current DBS (full disclosure), which is on the update service.
My Experience
I have experience of being a live in Nanny for 2 years in West Sussex, to a lovely family whom I'm still in contact with after relocating in 2009 to Hastings. I had sole charge of 2 boys, one of which was 9 months old when I first joined the family, and the other was 5 years old.
I have extensive experience working with challenging and difficult behaviours, also additional needs ASD, ODD and ADHD. I previously worked within a children's home and young people's supported living- working with Young people, whom had various behavioural challenges and needs. I've worked to a senior level within young persons supported industry, based on therapeutic and nurturing outcomes and have risen and maintained a senior role within the management team.
I have held the position of Deputy manager/ Team leader within childrens homes and wellbeing and inclusion manager within supported accommodation.
Although the above sounds very serious!?!, I'm bubbly, colourful, and full of fun! ?
(I don't mind being a fairy or a tiger when children want to produce a theatrical performance! )
My Qualifications
Cache working with children and young people level 3.
First aid and medication trained - Training hub
Food hygiene.
AQA working within a children's home (safety)
Safeguarding.
Fire Marshall.
2 years of university study - working with children and young people.
DSL training
Currently looking to book paediatric 1st aid training
Full DBS which is on the update system
