About Me
Hi my name is Lauren i live in Strood with my partner and 4 children. My youngest is just 1 and absolutely loves having children here to play and explore with every day, my other 3 are all of school age. My home is spacious, clean, pet and smoke free, I have a very large garden for children to play, with a wide range of toys such as bikes, scooters, water and sand trays. I have a conservatory dedicated for children to learn and play, it’s filled with many toys, arts and crafts, board games, action figures, train sets, kitchen and dolls house.
I work with an assistant who has been my close friend for many years. She is first aid trained, DBS checked and has been accepted by ofsted as a suitable person to work with children.
Me and my partner are both DBS checked, I am paediatric First Aid trained through St. John’s ambulance. I’m fully insured with childcare.co.uk and ofsted registered. I am registered with ICO. I sign up to online training and do lots of courses for my professional development.
I attend local groups, soft play centres, parks and library where children learn through play and meet new people in different environments. Taking them out daily to explore the world around them, this gives children more opportunities to learn and see how the world around them works. Id like children and families to see my house as a home from home setting. I work closely with parents to build trust and a positive relationship, children will see this and naturally feel comfortable and safe. I pride myself on giving each child the care and support which is suitable for them and more of a one to one experience. I give my time to each child individually but also in a group. I update parents daily on what their child/ren has been doing, a simple txt to reassure, along with a quick picture.
I currently do Hilltop drop off and pick up, I can do local nursery collection. I accept funding and childcare vouchers also set up for the tax free account, I offer spaces for 2yr olds and accept both 15 and 30 hours funding. This can be stretched over the whole year, or can be used for term-time only. Please note the funded 15 hours are only offered during school times, anything outside these hours are charged at the hourly rate.
I offer before and after school care.
My Experience
I have 4 children of my own and extensive experience of caring for young children. Having my own children I have learnt all children are different and develop in their own time at different stages. I appreciate the different needs of each child and work with them encouraging learning. I work with parents to get the best from each child keeping in touch regularly.
I worked in a nursery for a few years which I absolutely loved, I decided to do childminding as it’s a smaller setting which means I’m able to give more of my time personally to each child to help them develop the skills and understanding for everyday life. I feel like I achieve more in a smaller setting.
I offer different activities to encourage development, helping children achieve their next steps. A simple walk around the block is filled with lots of learning and eye opening things for the children to get talking about. We always have planned activities following the EYFS. I use personal folders for observation tracking, parents are able to see what their child has been learning and how they have grown in my care. This folders are filled with pictures and children a personal achievements. I have a closed WhatsApp group where I send pictures, updates and WOW moments to share.

Lauren has been an amazing help for our family. Our daughter started when she was just 1 and attended daily until recently at age 3 when we had to move house. We will always be grateful for all her help and the help of her wonderful assistants (Laura, Steph, Carol). She always kept me up to day via WhatsApp which I found really reassuring. Also as we lived very close to the Hilltop school she often picked my daughter up and dropped off which was so helpful for us. She was flexible so my daughter could first start with 2 shorter days a week, then 3, 4 longer days and eventually every day, as she really loved it there and my work picked up so we needed more help. I would not hesitate to recommend Lauren/ Medway minding to any parents looking for a wonderful childminder. Thank you so much, we will really miss you xxx Iulia & Kyle

My 3 year old son absolutely loves going to Lauren. They attend local pay groups together, he loves to play and learn with the other children.
Lauren promotes their individuality and knows all of his likes and dislikes. It really is home from home.
I couldn't ask for a better childminder for my son. He is very happy with Lauren and so am I.

Lauren is an amazing childminder, she started looking after my eldest when he was 1 right through to him starting school and has him in the school holidays, she now looks after our second child from 9 months old, both my boys love going to Lauren's, my eldest is always saying "when can I go to Lauren's" both Lauren and Laura are a breath of fresh air and my boys have come a long way since being at Lauren's x
