My Summary
About Me
******* Spaces for September 20. *********
Graded outstanding all areas March 2020. and 2014
I am an experienced childminder with lots of additional training.I belive children should have fun and enjoy every day as this helps them learn and feel safe and secure. We enjoy arts crafts and messy play as well as gardening and trips out.
I AM APPROVED to take two and three year old funding. I also take other schemes like care to learn.
I aim to give children a wide range of experiences in a fun and stimulating enviroment, working with parents to provide the care that each individual child needs to get the most out of their time with me.
A wide range of toys and equiptment with access to a safe secure garden, typical daily activities include sand and water play, creative play as well as activities to cover each area of learning, tailored to meet each childs needs.
We visit groups, parks libraries, woods and farms in the area. I recognise the need for children to socialise and meet wider groups of children and adults so structure time to do this.
I am keen to continualy update and attend new training and work closley with the underdevelopment team to improve my knowledge and maintain the standards of my practice.
I work with assistants in my setting allowing more care and individual attention for each child and enabling us to support more activities and a wide variety of outings....we do not take extra children only working with the numbers that a chilminder would normaly have on their own and reducing the need for any unplanned absences in the event of sickness.

I have been using Janette for over 12 years. She first looked after my daughter from age 2, full time up until reception and then after school until she attended secondary school. After that she looked after my son from 1 until this September when he started reception.
I always thought that my children would go to a nursery but when the time came to find childcare I warmed to the idea of a childminder as I like the fact that they are in the comfort of a home. I found Janette through the boroughs list of Ofsted childminders and on our initial call I realised that there is nothing my child will miss out on by not going to nursery - in my opinion a childminder offers a more enhanced setting with not only play and activities but a warm comfortable environment and one main carer to build a very special bond as my children did.
I know when I have left my children with Janette that they are safe and well looked after. She offers an array of home activities with a whole room dedicated to craft, arts, toys etc. For my daughter who was really into arts and crafts there was no end to the arts and craft she was able to do with Janette. For my son who prefers to run around, make dens and play games Janette accommodated this so well. Although she did get him more and more into crafts as time went on! I know this was through engaging and encouraging him.
Her home setting is warm and inviting with lots of space to play, craft and chill out when needed. Her play room is stacked floor to ceiling with anything that a child could imagine, dinosaurs, crafts, fishing games, board games, cars, dolls.....you name it!
They celebrate all the festivals through talking, reading books and related arts/crafts, games. When it is snowing Janette brings in a huge tray full of snow to play with. At Chinese New Year a big tray of noodles to mess around with. For the Coronation a union jack flag created with coloured rice! All these fun activities are under pinned with an educational aspect so the children are constantly learning. It is nonstop and so varied.
In the summer she has a lovely garden with outdoor toys, slides and in the real hot weather a paddling pool.
Outside of the home there are library visits, met ups with other childminders in her network, toddler groups, trips to the park such as Langley and Black Park and occasional soft play and farm trips.
I am honestly so grateful for the varied and fun times they had with Janette.
The children have a lovely routine that is created to make them feel safe and it works. Janette encourages independence and allows the children to be themselves. With Janette and the children, they are like a family and it is so very sweet. Both my children were full time so spent a lot of time with the other children so also built lovely friendships. There are children of different ages which means when they were littler, they had bigger children to look up to and learn from.
My son has moved to a school out of the area so after school care is not possible, but he will continue to be looked after my Janette in the school holidays thankfully.
He loved his time with his childminding family and misses Janette and his friends. We are super happy to be back with her this half term!
Thank you for all your support and care for the children over the past 12 years. There is something to be said in being able to go to work and not worry as you know your children and safe and being well looked after.

Thank you for your kind words it has been a privilege to have been part of their lives. Were all looking forward to the holiday fun.
What can I say about Janny?
We were lucky enough to find her on this website 6 years ago when we were looking for a childminder for our 1 year old son. I cannot tell you how lucky we were when we sent that first email asking for details. From that first interaction with us Janny was super helpful and informative and managed to put our minds at ease over a lot of things.
We now have two children and there has never been a moment that we have regretted our decision to let Janny look after both of them for us while we were working and even though they are now both at school, they still see her in the morning for the school run and it is very much a part of their school day.
The environment Janny creates for the children is safe, clean and very special. The children are encouraged to be independent and creative and the opportunity for play is never ending and the kids don't even realise that they are learning things the whole time. I just do not believe you get that kind of constant interaction at a nursery. I am always amazed at the projects that are happening whenever I go and pick the kids up and I think it is testament to her that our kids are sad if they have to miss going to her for any reason because she makes it so fun and enjoyable for them.
As each of our children were getting ready to start full time education Janny was helping them to get used to different things that they would encounter at school, queuing, sitting nicely, writing, eating independently etc. and helping us prepare them for all of that is just one of the many things that Janny has helped us and the kids with while we have known her.
The only reason we are having to leave Janny is because we are moving out of the area and it's fair to say that saying goodbye has been one of the hardest things to do, both for us as parents and for the children as she has been such an integral part of their lives, and ours, for 6 years now.
Janny we don't know what we will do without you and will miss your advice and friendship greatly. We will stay in touch I promise! Thank you for everything, from the bottom of our hearts!

Thank you for your lovely review. I'm missing you all.
A great help when times were rough, warm and welcoming to my kids. A support for all the family and through a sad loss supported both my children and myself.
We didn't know what we would have done without her, shame we had to move away.
If I return to the area I will be calling on her services again and will visit often.
I was really sad to leave and delayed my move to Scotland becouse of the love and support we both got.....I can't find anyone to replace her so Im going to be staying home.....unless she will move.
Great advice, great care and attention Hadley always comes first...please move to Scotland........
Going back to work after having children is always a worry. Leaving your child or children in someone else's care. Worrying if your doing the right thing by leaving them with someone else, worrying if their happy and well cared for in your absence.
It took me a long time to find Janette she's brilliant. Put my mind at ease from the onset and my children spent 5 happy years with her. Janette provides a warm loving enviroment for children to learn and grow in.
My children were always doing activities whether it was after school or in half term break. From baking, to arts and crafts or going on outings.
I highly recommend Janette to anyone looking for childcare, my children were happy there.
