About Me

Hello my name is Charlotte, I live with my Husband Richard and my lovely Children, jack born 18/05/14 and Daniel born 12/06/15. we live in a 3 bed semi- detached home in Dove holes, we have an enclosed private back garden and a living room which i work from. I offer home to home environment for the children to lean and develop through play and i like the children to feel apart of my family.

The children will have use of the following rooms:

* Living room- This is the main room which has most of the toys, books and other exciting things, the rest is stored and brought out when needed for activities.
* Kitchen - This is where some of the arts and crafts take place as well as baking lots of lovely things.
*Garden - The children will have lots of time to play outside in the garden. I will have lots of outdoor games and toys, a play house, sand and water play.


CARE AND LEARNING

At Shine Bright Childminding I teach children to learn through play, this encourages the children to develop skills and learn by examples set whilst playing, this making learning process both fun and enjoyable. My aim within my setting is to ensure that your child is ready and eager to start mainstream school following the key areas of the early years foundation stage (EYFS), the activities I do is rich and varied including music, science experiments, creative play and gardening and many more. The type of teaching is enormously varied. I combine both adult-led and child-led activities to encourage independent learning and motivate children to link together the areas of development.

BABIES AND TODDLERS

The first two years of a child's life are critical to their development, during this period a child's experiences plays a fundamental role in the development of the brain and laying the foundations for all intellectual and emotional development to follow.
Through the constant care i aim to create an atmosphere which allows babies to develop and progress at their own pace whilst gaining in confidence using movement, sound, colour, and touch, babies are encouraged to explore, develop, and above all enjoy their 'second home'.

During the third year of a child's life they will experience huge changes making from total dependence as a baby to a more independent, mobile world. At this age a child explores their ability to assert their independence and Individuality, communication, more purposely and control their bodily functions. Through this period your child will be provided with challenges in a relaxed and trusting environment. I plan activities based on each individual child's needs and interest so as to encourage their involvement.

PRE-SCHOOLERS

As children move into independence my programme for learning develops a more meaningful and purposeful structure, where children are positively encouraged to explore the world around them with curiosity, making learning fun, encouraging children to respond with enthusiasm and vigour.
I recognise that every child is an individual and has varying needs and abilities; every child's day is made to make fun and educational.
I provide a range of activities, sensory equipment and different natural materials that will stimulate and encourage their progress.
I work closely with Derbyshire council and local Schools to ensure that my teaching methods attain the standards necessary for each child to enter the primary education system.

PRE-SCHOOL LEAVERS

As your child finishes their time at Shine bright Childminding I celebrate them moving into mainstream school in style, with a fun and exciting leavers party.
However, it doesn't have to end there, i also provide a before and after care services to and from local Dove holes C of E Primary School, so you can rest assure that they are being picked up by a familiar face and looked after in my setting until you are able to pick them up and take them home, I also offer school holiday care too.
