About Me

A little about me: I have 2 beautiful boys, born 2018 and 2021 and we have a beautiful dog, Bonnie who is part of our family. I love the outdoors, being out in nature, exploring new places, keeping fit and eating healthy. I started working in childcare 2018 to work around my son and haven't looked back.

I get so much joy working with children. Each day is different and exciting and it brings the inner child out in me too, life shouldn't be serious and with children it's not.
Watching these little people grow, watching their personalities develop and to know I am apart of their learning process really is magical.

I’m currently studying my level 3 forest school which shapes how I plan my days.

I believe children should be outside as much as possiable with unlimited out door play

Each day we will be out exploring, in the woods, national trust parks, anywhere with natural play.

I don’t follow any one particular theorist, but I follow a little bit of everything. I love using resources from natural materials, recycling and keeping it minimalistic. I don’t believe children needs lots of toys, as it can be over stimulating, having less is more as the children really embrace and enjoy things more.

I encourage independence, but allowing children to try things themselves, have a go.

I role model positive language and behaviour.

I encourage critical thinking. Encouraging them to think of ideas and how things work for themselves.

I encourage risky play. Children learn through challenges.

I am their calm if they are feeling big emotions. Taking deep breaths and cuddles, there emotion’s matter.

I give time for children to just be present in the moment. No pressure to rush to the next thing.

I observe children’s interests and give space for their interests.

I believe there is a lot of learning also through story time and songs, and movement like yoga.
