Welcome to Jenny's Childminding! We are dedicated to providing a nurturing, home-from-home environment for your child in our spacious and inviting setting in Hook. Our approach blends structured activities, high-quality teaching, and plenty of time for free play, all tailored to your child's needs.
I’m Jenny, a qualified primary school teacher with experience teaching children from Reception to Year 6. As a proud mother of four aged 13, 7, 6, and 3 I truly understand both the joys and challenges of raising children. I work alongside my husband, Sean, who is also an Ofsted registered childminder, as well as our experienced assistant, who is trained in paediatric first aid. Together, we are committed to providing your child with the best care and attention in a warm, supportive environment.
Our setting is conveniently located within a 5-minute walk of the local Infant and Junior schools, Hook train station, and nearby parks and community centres, making drop-offs and pick-ups easy and stress-free.
We offer a bright, spacious area where your child can explore, learn, and grow. From our open-plan living room and kitchen, where we offer a wide variety of toys and activities, to a cozy nap area and a secure, enclosed garden with artificial grass and plenty of outdoor play equipment. Your child will have everything they need for safe, fun, and enriching experiences.
I believe in building a personal connection with each family, and I’m always available to stay in touch, keeping you updated on your child’s progress and experiences throughout the day.

Or 2 year old son Walt has been with Jenny and Sean for a couple of months and I have to say these guys are just beyond incredible.
We didn't have the most positive experience with a previous local childminder and it did make us question whether childminding was the right option anymore, then we met Jenny and Sean.
It is very apparent they both love what they do with so much thoughtfulness and creativity put into every single detail. Their efforts they go to when planning for the week to ensure the children are entertained, engaged and educated does not go unnoticed. Our sons development has shot up in the last two months and he can confidently count to 15 and his vocabulary has dramatically improved.
The setting is lovely, and drop off/parking not a problem at all.
The communication to parents is outstanding with a lovely roundup of each day which really goes above and beyond what we have ever experienced. Then there is the monthly newsletter which we have really enjoyed reading through!!
Words cannot do these guys justice and they work so hard to ensure the children have an amazing daily experience. The reassurance they give to the parents as well is invaluable.
We just wish we had found Jenny and Sean years ago as our eldest would have loved going there too!
If you are looking for the best in childminding in the area, it doesn't get any better than this.

We are incredibly pleased with the care and environment that Jenny and Sean provide for our daughter at their childminding setting. Every morning, she runs in confidently and happily, and it’s heartwarming to see her greeted so warmly by both Sean and Jenny. Since she attends full-time from Monday to Friday, it was crucial for us to find a place where she would be well cared for, have fun, and continue to develop—and we found that here.
Our daughter settled in very quickly, and even after a holiday or break, she is always excited to return. Jenny and Sean have created an environment that has greatly supported her confidence, routine, and overall wellbeing. It’s clear from drop-offs and pick-ups how well they know her—from her food preferences to her favourite ways to play and what makes her laugh. The strong relationship they’ve built with her gives us immense comfort, knowing she is in the best care and enjoying enriching experiences every day.
We greatly appreciate the structure and variety of the days, Jenny has created a service that introduces the children to new concepts through education and play. I have been very impressed with the themed weeks and the wide range of new activities the children get to experience!

We have been taking our daughter to Jenny’s for over three years. They have a homely environment where she is able to learn according to a structured curriculum, and is able to develop and express herself with imaginative play and practical learning. The setting is kept very clean as you want your own home to be, and any child illnesses are minimised as much as possible. We have built up a rapport with both Jenny and Sean over the years, and we feel that our daughter has been in good hands with her wellbeing, enjoyment, and preparation for school.

My daughter and son have both spent a year (separately) at Jenny’s Childminding. Each of them, with very different personalities, thrived in her environment and developed so much during their time there. I am so grateful to Jenny and Sean and the impact their wonderful care has had on our children. We will all remember our time with them very fondly and would recommend Jenny’s to anyone looking for a warm, friendly, nurturing yet professional environment to send their children to.

Since May 2023, our two children have been attending Jenny’s Childminding, and we couldn't be happier with their progress under Jenny's care. They both radiate happiness and enthusiasm, clearly thriving in her nurturing environment. The cosy, home-like atmosphere suits them perfectly; they eagerly anticipate each day and return home with smiles and exciting tales. Jenny's activities strike the ideal balance between fun and educational, perfectly tailored to their developmental stages. We greatly appreciate the daily updates and monthly newsletters, which keep us well-informed about their experiences. Knowing they're in such capable hands and having such a wonderful time brings us immense peace of mind. We're truly grateful to have found such an exceptional childcare setting.

Firstly, let's talk about Jenny's monthly newsletter – it's nothing short of brilliant! Every month, parents receive a delightful update on what their children have been up to, complete with heartwarming anecdotes, photos capturing precious moments, as well as insights into the exciting activities and learning experiences the children have been immersed in. It's clear that Jenny not only values communication with us parents but also understands the importance of keeping us informed and involved in their child's developmental journey.
Now, onto Jenny's Journals – what a fantastic way to keep us updated! These electronic journals provide a beautiful glimpse into the daily adventures of the children that we recieve at the end of the day via our own Whatsapp group chat. My husband loves these and says its his favourite part of his train journey home, which allows him to read and see before arriving home. From messy art sessions to outdoor explorations, each entry is filled with warmth and enthusiasm, showcasing the dedication and passion Jenny and her team have for fostering a stimulating and supportive environment for every child in her care. We love the fact that she has created a well thought out curriculum for the year using her teaching background which is also tailored for the age of each child. We’ve seen first hand our little one grow and devleop so much from the age of 1 to 2 from being quiet and shy to a now energetic little social butterfly thanks to Jenny’s daily encouragement.
What sets Jenny apart is her personalised attention and genuine love poured into every aspect of the childs experience. Whether it's fostering creativity through arts and crafts, encouraging exploration in nature, or simply providing a safe and nurturing space for play, Jenny and her team go above and beyond to ensure that each child feels valued, respected, and empowered to thrive. We’d also like to say how nice it is that Jenny’s husband Sean works with her! We love his enthusiasm, laughter and the passion for fun that he brings to the setting. It is so nice to know that they have a really caring home from home setting.

Jenny is a wonderful childminder who was with our daughter from about 6 - 16 months. We only stopped using her due to a new job location otherwise she would still be there. Her home is very warm, welcoming and clean. She plans activities for the kids daily, send photos on each child's own whatsapp group for their parents and sends them home with a book each day on their activities which is so sweet we will keep ours for her to read when she is older. Was a bit nervous sending our little one so early to childcare but felt very comfortable with Jenny. Highly recommend!

Jenny’s setting has been absolutely great for our daughter, who started when she had just turned 1 and has been there a year. Jenny is so professional when it comes to how she runs her business yet the setting feels very homely and she is so open and friendly to talk to. Our daughter would chat about Jenny and her family all the time when she wasn’t there! Jenny is a very experienced Mum as well as professional childminder and I really valued her opinion when it came to my daughter’s development and health too. There is nothing we would change about the service she has provided - just the perfect childminder and we can’t recommend her enough.

Jenny was the first childminder that my wife and I had used, as he had previously been to nursery before lockdown. We were naturally concerned about how he would settle into new surroundings and whether Jenny was the right person for our son and us.
Any concerns that we had were quickly set to one side, Jenny provided a lovely, caring and fun environment for our son and we couldn't have been happier. She provided a good structure to his learning and development and encouraged him with new activities and play each day. The highest compliment that I can give is that our son would quite happily shut the door on me as I dropped him off and then would run inside.
Jenny's communication was always good and we regularly would receive photos of our son playing in the garden or undertaking activities.
We would recommend anyone to Jenny and hope in time to use Jenny again when our son is attending school for wrap around care.

Jenny looks after my 20 month old son. As most parents to a first child we were anxious about putting our son in childcare and how quickly he would settle but Jenny could not have made it any easier and we were amazed at how quickly he settled.
She provides a warm, happy, clean and spacious environment and my son is always very excited to go there and play with her lovely children.
There is an organised structure to the day and from the start Jenny has been happy to work that with my son’s routine. There are always fun and varied activities throughout the day.
There is excellent communication with us about his day and Jenny stringently follows ofsted regulations especially navigating through covid, ensuring it is a safe environment.
I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending her.
