About Me
My name is Jahs I am a creative, fun, Influential and Inspiring individual who enjoy learning different strategies and practices to aid my skills to allow me to give children and young people a fulfilling start to life. I am a supportive and enthusiastic team player who is committed to the welfare, safeguarding and promotion of individuals with SEN. I have real desire to support children to achieve the best education and skills possible.
I am also currently working in a SEN school over the past four years as a Senior Higher Level Teaching assistant (SHLTA). Has a Senior HLTA my job entails initiating teaching and learning in line with the School curriculum. Over the past year have regularly babysat for parents, during half term, evenings or weekends.
I enjoy helping children with homework, assignments and exams from basic to GCSE level.
My Experience
I have seven years’ experience working with children and young people with various learning disabilities in schools and the local communities.
Throughout my time working in schools I have planned, prepared and taught lessons, carried out English and Maths assessments and organised risk assessments for school trips. Furthermore, I have supported children with complex Special Educational Needs including a combination and level of autism, dyslexia, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, CHARGE syndrome, epilepsy and challenging behaviours, general global developmental delay and cystic fibrosis etc. As a result, I have had the opportunity to plan and prepare activities according to the children's individual needs, targets on their IEPs and Statements as well as assist during speech and language therapy sessions and carry out follow-up work where necessary.
