My name is Laura Im based in Ryde but I Drive so I’m happy to travel. I grew up here on the iow so I have a good knowledge of the area and what groups/ activities ect that there are on for children. I enjoy the outdoors. In my spare time I love spending time with my family and friends.
My Experience
I’ve been a nanny for over 20 years 4 of those years I was a live in nanny for a lovely family in London which I really enjoyed. Since being back on the Isle of Wight I’ve worked for a few lovely familes. Children that I did look after every week before they started school, I often still see them as I babysit for them it’s great to keep in touch with those familes. I very much enjoy caring for children of all ages I’ve looked after children ranging in age from a few months old to teenagers. I also have experience working as a mother’s help. Helping care for very young babies.

I have a childcare qualification.
I am pediatric first aid trained.
I have a DBS check.
I am fully insured with a Childcare insurance specialist.
I have business insurance on my car insance policy.
I am on the ofsted voulantary register as home carer ( Nanny.)

Laura has worked with us over the last year looking after our 4-year son, doing occasional early mornings and drop-off and pick-ups from pre-school, after school and bedtimes, babysitting, and for the past three months full days. She takes him on excursions to the beach and to attractions, and plays with him in the house with toys and crafts, as well as creating meals and snacks and helping to pack lunches and school bags. I can't recommend her highly enough, she is a lovely person to be around, for both us and our son, she is highly responsible, calm even in a crisis, and she provides a warm and nurturing environment for him to play and learn. She is completely reliable and has never once been late or let us down, and she is very flexible if things change. He loves being around her and we have complete trust that she will look after him with care and attention and a very thorough approach to his safety and happiness.

Laura has been a nanny for my 4 children (aged 4y, 2y and 9 month old twins) since we all moved to the Isle of Wight in October 2018. She has been an excellent nanny with all the children: supporting and caring for each of their needs. All the the children love spending time with Laura.
She has been great looking after the babies: helping the weaning stage. She has such a calming influence on the children with good communication, reading stories and distracting when needed. She is also very patient: especially with cranky upset toddlers! :-)
Laura has really good initiative about what needs to be done with the kids and around the house. From taking the older kids on outings (library or Tapnell farm) to household tasks (laundry and organising meals/cleaning up afterwards).
Laura is always punctual, reliable and very flexible to our needs. She is quite happy to work extra hours and stay late when needed. We spend lots of time together as I am on maternity leave. I can truly say that Laura is a very kind and thoughtful person while being very easy to get on with. I would highly recommend Laura.
