Thank you for viewing my profile. I am a fully qualified and accredited, Ofsted-registered (Good grading) childminder based in Rochester, covering both Balfour schools.
***I cannot offer drop offs or collections from any other schools***
I accept 15/30 hour funding.
I am registered to receive tax-free childcare payments via the Government scheme. I am also happy to accept employer childcare vouchers.
I provide a fun, safe and stimulating environment where children thrive and learn independence. I work in partnership with parents to ensure each child receives care tailored to their individual needs. I provide healthy lunches and snacks.
I have a large secure garden and plenty of space for children to explore. We have lots of fun and I provide a wide range of activities to suit all ages, including toys, books, puzzles, arts & crafts, gardening, cooking, dressing up, music, role play and messy play. We celebrate special events including Christmas, birthdays, Divali, Easter and Halloween. We spend a lot of time outside and go on outings to parks, the beach, museums, libraries, National Trust properties and play sessions.
I am a member of the Royal Horticultural Society's school gardening campaign, a National Trust member, which enables me to offer a broad range of outings and I am a member of the Forest Childcare Association.
I have a car, to facilitate trips outside of the local area.

My Experience
I have been an Ofsted registered childminder since 2016 and have two beautiful daughters of my own age 11 and 16.
My Qualifications
I have a Cache qualification in home-based childcare.
I have attended a safeguarding courses with my Local Authority.
I have a paediatric first aid qualification.
I have attended a food hygiene course and have an FSA rating of 5.

We cannot recommend Fiona highly enough. She has provided the most wonderful environment and care for our daughter since she was 9 months old - she's now almost 4 and going to school in September, and our younger daughter is about to start at Fiona's. Every step along the way Fiona has nurtured & encouraged, provided activities that are stimulating, imaginative and fun, wonderful trips out and healthy home cooked meals - all carried out with her boundless energy, positivity, professionalism and sense of humour. Our daughter adores it at Fiona's (as all the children in her care do) and it made my return to work so much easier knowing she was in such safe hands, in a "home" environment.
Fiona genuinely cares, and really goes above and beyond.

My two children have been in Fiona’s care for 3 years now. My eldest for before and after school care and drop off at the same time as my youngest 3 days a week. They are incredibly settled and happy. The communication from Fiona is first class and I feel 100% confident that they are in excellent care in a loving family setting full of activities and contentment. Fiona is also flexible and approachable with up to date polices and procedures.

To leave your child with whom is technically a stranger to start with is such a daunting prospect. Be it with a childminder or a nursery. However with Fiona you really have no worries. Her care of the children is exemplary and often goes above and beyond simply 'minding' them.
For me, I felt so much more comfortable with my daughter being in a 'home' environment and cared for by someone regular who was the same person every day. I like the fact she got to be 'normal' and go out and about throughout the day rather than being confined to one setting and hence do the things I would do with her- like go to park, library, school runs, etc. However, at the same time she was stimulated by all the activities that Fiona planned and simply gained so much from her care.
My daughter has benefitted immensely being surrounded by a range of children of all ages rather than just her select age group. As a result, her confidence has grown immensely with older children and she can show consideration to the younger children too.
The things that I was looking for when choosing a childminder was someone who had the same values as me when looking after children. Someone who instilled good manners, provided varied experiences whilst teaching them about the world and people around them and genuinely caring about the children.
The children in her care are the best examples of the kind of childminder Fiona is with them. Calm, polite, happy children who all seem to have a good time. It says it all really.
Thank you very much for taking such good care of her for the past two years. It is very much appreciated.
