About Me
My name is Melanie and I am an Ofsted registered childminder. I live with my husband, 3 children - a daughter born 2003 and twins born 2006, along with our ESS dogs Bailey and Archie; in Quarrington, Sleaford. Little Sparkles is an established childminding business and is based on the guidelines of the EYFS. We do all sorts of fun activities from role play to craft to cooking and baking through to music, singing and movement; we have trips out in the local area and explore the local environment and we also spend time doing quiet activties such as drawing, sharing books and songs and rhymes. We do lots of messy play and exploring using our senses. I provide home cooked healthy meals and snacks and involve the children in the choosing and making of these, age appropriate of course. My Experience
I have been a childminder since 2008 but spent the previous 12 years working as an Early Years teacher and prior to that was a Playgroup Assistant giving me 24 years of childcare experience to draw upon. I'm also mum to 3 children so have a wealth of experience to draw upon.I have also worked in pre-schools and nurseries and my roles have included SENCo, Room Leader and Curriculum Lead.. I have a BTEC National Diploma in Nursery Nursing;a B.Ed(Hons) degree in Early Years (Humanities) am fully first aid trained and also hold my Food Hygiene Level 2 certificate and have completed recognised safeguarding training courses amongst others. I constantly update my training to keep aware of changes in early years.
My Qualifications
I hold a BTEC National Diploma in Nursery Nursing and a B.Ed(Hons) degree in Early Years. I am paediatric first aid trained and also hold a Basic Food Hygeine Level 2 certificate. I am fully DBS checked and have attended courses on safeguarding children. I have also attended courses on all aspects of the EYFS; special needs; play and childcare development.
My Availability
My hours are from 8.000am until 5.00pm, Tuesday to Friday although I am always willing to discuss extra hours if necessary.
I also offer ad hoc childcare provided I have the space and places are booked and paid for 2 weeks in advance.
I currently have spaces for part time care. Spaces becoming available from September due to current children starting school.

My Fees
- Childminding from £4.80 per hour
I charge the following fees:
£4.80 per hour
Full fees for your holidays/sickness
No fees for my holidays or sickness (I have 5 weeks holiday per year)
Term time only care - 1/2 fee retainer required to hold space open during Christmas, Easter and Summer holidays. .
2 weeks deposit payable on signing contracts (non-refundable) - although this makes up part or first months fees.
Fees payable in advance.
Meals:
Lunch - £1.50
Light teatime snack (for children staying after 4.30pm) - £1.50
Tea (for children staying after 5pm) - £2.50
Drinks and snacks are included in the hourly rate.
