About Me
I have been an Ofsted Registered Childminder for 12 years and live in a quiet area of Catcliffe, Rotherham.
I'm a home from home provision and provide a happy, safe environment for children to learn, grow and develop as individuals. The entire downstairs is used for Childminding:
• The front room is used for play, targeted learning sessions for small groups of children, songs, rhymes, reading sessions etc
• The kitchen/dining room is used for arts/crafts, playdough, baking, cooking, eating etc
• A hallway where a children can easily access a rotated selection of resources.
• A child friendly garden with some planting, a grass lawn and a driveway area (which is secured by high-gates when the children are accessing the area).
Children are free to play inside and outside depending on what they/we are doing at the time.
I deliver varied learning experience for the children in my care, taking into account their age and stage of development as well as their interests. It is my intention that children experience learning through a balance of adult-led interactions and play based learning. This is through the children’s interests, topics, themes, hands-on learning experiences, hooks for learning and continuous provision activities. I work with parents/carers to build, and supplement, the child’s learning, development and social skills.
My Experience
Registered childminder since 2013, and have cared for 30 children in this time.
I have experience of children with additional needs including Autism, Sensory Processing Disorder, and Speech, Language and Communication needs.
My Qualifications
My qualifications include:
Level 3 Children & Young People’s Workforce Diploma
Level 3 SENCO (Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator)
Early Years Professional Development Programme (EYPDP)
Makaton (Level 1 & 2)
NHS & Rotherham Healthy Foundations Award
I'm passionate about maintaining high quality Continued Professional Development (CPD) to match the current needs of myself as an early years educator, and the needs of the children. I continuously review my training and how it will benefit the children’s needs, my own training goals and the setting as a whole.
