Hi my name is Carly and I live with my husband and two daughters, aged 10 years and 7 year old.
I offer Childcare (Happy Hares childminding services) for ages 6 months to 5 years in my home setting in Hare Street, Buntingford. Hours offered are Monday – Friday from 8am to 4:30pm. Offering term time only with adhoc days in school holidays. The setting is a family home with a fully equipped large garden and dedicated play and learning room. Situated in a small village in walking distance to Hedgehogs preschool and Hormead First School and less than 2 miles from the town of Buntingford. Surrounded by countryside and in walking distance of a local park, there are many opportunities for outdoor learning and activities as well as social learning resources such as soft play and various childrens groups.

I offer a setting to all children which I hope is comfortable and welcoming, like a home from home. I hope to build close relationships with the children so they feel settled and have a sense of belonging, I do not discriminate against and I respect differences and individual needs. I strive to maintain good communication with parents / carers to achieve a good working partnership to ensure the needs and wishes of the child is met. I want to encourage and nurture learning by providing a stimulating and fun environment, which I hope the parents/ carers will be involved in and continue outside of the setting. I aim to provide opportunities for learning and support children in order to assist them reaching their full potential.
I will support the children in their learning of the three prime areas; Communication and language, physical development and personal social and emotional development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage requirement. This will provide a strong foundation to prepare them with skills to further their learning at school and for life in general. I will monitor a child's development and plan my activities & themes around children's interests in order for children progress. This is done by regular observations, any delay in progress can be identified early and addressed by liaising with the carers or parents / teachers / other professionals as appropriate.
I will promote a healthy lifestyle to maintain their well-being. This will be achieved through providing healthy food options and educating them about healthy food choices and physical activities, including outdoor play.
