About Me

Hi, I am Laura, I am 43, a Btec qualified, ofsted registered (good) childminder.

I have 24 years childcare experience Working in day nurseries, as a nanny and childminder.

I am married to chris and we have three lovely children. We live in a 3 bedroom house in Hextable with a nice sized garden and plenty of toys to keep your little ones entertained! We are a happy, busy household and look forward to welcoming your children.

I aim to provide a safe and stimulating environment where your child can feel
happy and welcome in a warm, friendly home and hopefully have lots of fun!

I am committed to delivering the EYFS which means I will monitor your
Childs progress and provide activities in all areas of learning to help your child reach their next steps and develop to their full potential.
Children will be given equal opportunity to join in all activities according to
their age.

I have many varied activities, toys, books, puzzles, games, arts and craft
to suit all ages.

Children will be able to help with family activities such as baking, setting the
table, tidying toys and good manners will be encouraged.

We have a garden with swings, slides, bikes, scooters, playhouse, sand and water play etc which we will try to use as often as possible.

We regularly visit parks, playgroups, music groups, soft play and local attractions and meet with other childminders/nanny's with children similar ages.

With your permission we have Occasional days out such as visiting parks, farms and castles etc.

I am aim to have quiet time each day (stories, singing, resting) when needed alongside the fun, learning and play!

I feel a routine is good for children so they all know what comes next in the day and can feel secure, however we are flexible when necessary.

I aim to deliver a varied meal and snack menu and encourage children to make healthy choices and ensure they have some exercise and fresh air.

Where possible I try to distract from bad behaviour and encourage good behaviour with positive praise, set clear boundaries and where this doesn’t work , a cooling off period away from other children.

Any records or information about your child will be kept confidential to others.

I understand you as parent are the most important person to your child
and therefore will consult with you on aspects of childcare and continue
your child’s usual routines where possible.

I will provide a diary of your childs time with me which you can also write in
and comment on.
