About Me
I am born and raised in Bristol, fortunate to come from a big family with 3 older siblings and 2 younger ones. I also have 2 nieces who I absolutely adore spending time with. I have lived in Liverpool and London in my recent years for my studies, however, now reside back in Bristol for work as a graduate Naval Architect.
I am flexible with hours and responsibilities needed to carry out. I can do the school run (have access to my own car), cook, housework, homework help, care for pets etc, and would love to do fun activities like swimming, going to the park, and playing sports.
My Experience
I have a background in caring for children both personally and professionally, which has allowed me to develop an understanding of child development and the responsibilities within childcare. From an early age, I played an active role in helping to raise my nieces and providing childcare for my relatives, and have continued to build on this experience through other roles.
As a afterschool/summer holiday nanny for a family with two older children (ages 9 and 11), I gained valuable hands-on experience managing multiple responsibilities. These included picking the children up from school or clubs, overseeing homework, preparing meals, and ensuring a clean and organised household. My work in this role also involved engaging the children through play and activities, as well as planning fun days out.
Additionally, I broadened my childcare experience through a missionary trip to Tanzania, where I volunteered with FISCH (Future for Iringa Street Children). During this time, I helped organise and lead sports activities and summer holiday camps, working with children who had faced difficult circumstances. This role required empathy, patience, and the ability to create a safe and nurturing environment for the children to thrive.
Across all of my childcare roles, I have demonstrated reliability, responsibility, and a passion for supporting children's growth in both structured and informal settings.
My Qualifications
From my secondary education, I obtained 11 GCSE’s (1 A*, 7 A’s, 3 B’s). I then went on to study A levels in Maths, Physics and Economics where I achieved 3 B grades. I also have a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters degree in Naval Architecture.
My Availability
I am available afterschool and evenings, and most weekends. However, my Saturday availability varies as I sometimes have netball matches.
