About Me
I am an OFSTED registered childminder. I live in Heath Hayes, close to Five Ways Primary and Gorsemoor. I childmind alongside my partner Simon, who is also an ofsted registered childminder. I have 3 girls aged 26, 20 and 17, although 2 study away from home. We also have 2 cats.
We had our first OFSTED inspection in Dec 2021 and we were graded good.
Both Simon and I were primary school teachers until we decided on a career change about 7 years ago.
My Experience
As childminders, we have experience in looking after babies up to 16 year old children. We love to welcome new children into our home and we treat them as one of our family.
We work closely with parents to ensure continuity between home and ourselves so as not to disrupt routines too much. We believe very much in learning through play and exploration and are very child led.
I am a fully qualified Primary school teacher, teaching in Nursery, Reception and year 1. I have had extensive safeguarding training and I have experience of working with SEN/D children.
My eldest daughter also has learning difficulties so I can empathise with parents in similar situations.
My Qualifications
After having my children, I went back to university and studied for a degree in early childhood studies combined with special needs and inclusion. I then did my PGCE in Primary education and gained qualified teacher status. I have taught throughout nursery, reception and year 1.
I have additionally completed training in the following areas and take all possible opportunities to update and develop my portfolio
Paediatric First Aid, Early Years Foundation Stage into Practice,
Business Training, Safeguarding Awareness Level 1 and 2
DBS checked
Starting Out - Supporting children's emotional well-being (PACEY)
Expectations of Behaviour (PACEY)
Delivering the EYFS (Pacey)
Safeguarding (PACEY)
Type 1 Diabetes training
Full Driving License
My Availability

We have 1 space that has just become available currently for Monday- Wednesday.
I am registered for 15 and 30 hr funding for 1, 2,3 and 4 year olds. I offer wraparound care, child care, before/after school, drop off and pickups for local schools. I am located in Heath Hayes. I can provide care for children with SEN/D. Please call or message to discuss.
Between us both, we collect and drop off from Five ways Primary and collection from Sherbrook Primary School and Hednesford Valley High

Where do i start 😭 My eldest daughter attended as she turned one until she went off to nursery. Covid hit just after she joined but Michelle (& Simon) were incredible and so supportive! Harriet came on brilliantly and she was so confident! Fast forward a little bit and our youngest then started attending, they always kept us updated through out the day, with photos and letting us know what they had been upto! They have such a lovely routine with them, They also attend some fab places with the children, play groups, libraries etc.
My youngest was diagnosed Type 1 diabetic a few months back and Michelle and Simon were so supportive and happily took on any training needed for her to be able to go back to them! They take the best care of her and I fully trust them with that.
The only issue I have…. Is once my youngest leaves next month I have no other children to give them 😭😭😭

Michelle and Simon are fantastic and are amazing with my 1 year old son. Highly recommend. I was so nervous about looking for a childminder but they were both reassuring and my son adores them both.

Simon and Michelle make an excellent childminding team, and they look after our 6 year old son Harrison. As Harrison has some SEN needs they took their time to get to know him, and gradully transitioned him over to their childminding service. They have made Harrison feel comfortable and at home, and have welcomed him into their family. Harrison speaks highly of them both, and he knows that they are there to support him, and he also has lots of fun when he is there! They are both very child centred, and have an excellent understanding of Harrison's needs. They have also been a great support to our family, have given us advice about his SEN, and they have been flexible with changing his childcare hours when required.
