My Summary
About Me
My name is Victoria, I am an Ofsted registered childminder. I live with my husband and young son on the border of Cross Roads and Haworth. Our home is less than a 5 minute drive from both Oxenhope and Cullingworth. Our views over the valley are loved by all the children and our closeness to the moor is perfect for when the children want to go out and explore.
I provide a safe, caring, friendly, home from home environment where every day is spent learning through engaging play activities. When at home our days are full of stories, singing, dancing, baking, messy play, painting and much more! The children can choose from a range of toys to match their age and interets.
I am passionate about providing the children in my care with the opportunity to develop their curiosity about and love for nature, so we go out and about in all weathers! I regularly take the children to local woodlands, nature reserves, moors, gardens and parks. Every year the children and myself take part in the Woodland Trust's '30 days wild' challenge.
I also take children to local museums, historical houses and meet up with other Cross Roads childminders and their children.
Prior to becoming a childminder I was an early years and primary school teacher for 18 years. I use my skills and experience from this role to help me plan and provide fun and engaging learning experiences for the children who I care for.
At my Ofsted inspection in July 2021 I received an overall effectiveness grade of good. I received outstanding in the areas of 'behaviour and attitudes' and 'personal development ' and good in the areas of 'quality of education' and 'leadership and management '.
My setting is open Tuesday - Thursday 8am - 5.30pm and Friday 8am - 1pm during term time. As well as caring for children from 0 - 4 years of age, I collect children from Lees Primary School, including the nursery.
I offer funded places to eligible families.

Victoria has been an outstanding childminder for our family, and we're absolutely delighted with the care and attention she provides. From the beginning, we felt completely comfortable with her warm and welcoming manner. Her home feels like a second home—safe, friendly, and nurturing.
We particularly appreciate her focus on learning through play. Each day is filled with various fun activities that have supported our little boy confidence and development. Whether it's storytelling, singing, dancing, messy play, or trips to museums and meet-ups with other local childminder groups, it’s clear our little one is engaged and enjoying himself with his friends. Her early years and primary school teacher background are evident in the thoughtful, enjoyable and structured activities she plans.
Victoria's enthusiasm for outdoor learning is one of the key reasons we were keen to send our little boy to her setting. She regularly takes the children on outings to local woodlands, nature reserves, and parks, instilling a love for nature in all sorts of weather, which we feel is really important. The annual participation in the Woodland Trust's '30 Days Wild' challenge is just one example of her commitment to outdoor education.
Communication with Victoria is straightforward. She keeps us in the loop with regular messages, newsletters, and (private) social media posts, so we always know what our child is up to. She's approachable, making discussing any questions or concerns easy.
Victoria's qualifications and experience are impressive. Her Ofsted inspection results, particularly in 'behaviour and attitudes' and 'personal development,' speak volumes about her abilities, which I imagine helps with our sometimes strong-willed child! Her ongoing professional development also ensures she stays current with the best childcare practices.
In summary, we feel incredibly fortunate to have Victoria as our childminder. Her expertise, passion, and genuine care for the children make her a brilliant carer for our little boy.
We were introduced to Victoria through friends whose child attended her setting, and we felt immediately comfortable in our initial get-to-know-you visit. We have since recommended her to two of our friends whose children now attend. It’s lovely to see our children play together in the photographic updates.
We wholeheartedly recommend her to any family seeking high-quality childcare in the area. Thank you, Victoria, for creating such a wonderful environment where our child has thrived!

Thank you for your lovely comments x
My daughter has been going to Victoria since Sept 2018, and has been happy and comfortable in the setting from the word go! I knew immediately that she had settled well, as Victoria would message me to let me know how she was getting on, to set my mind at ease. And since those early days, regular feedback is always available as Victoria is so approachable. I also love her regular newsletters and Facebook posts, it's great to see what the children have been doing, and seeing them in action!
It is quite clear that Victoria is experienced in providing care and learning, appropriate to individual children's needs and strengths. My daughter is relatively shy, and it can take time for her to engage when she is out of her comfort zone, however since Victoria knows the children in her care so well, my little girl has been confident and smiley from her first day. This is also evident in the range of activities provided at Victoria's, which are engaging and well matched. The children are positively encouraged to learn through play and relevant, fun activities, and have the opportunity to visit a wide range of community groups and activities. I particularly like Victoria's approach to outdoor learning, and the variety of trips and outings to local parks, nature reserves and other appropriate facilities.
Thank you so much, it's clear to see that my daughter is safe, happy and engaged. X
