CV for Sophie Wright. NVQ LEVEL 3. Early Years Development

DOB: 1.11.68

Address: 3 St Brendan’s, Upper Sea Road, Bexhill. TN40 1RL

Qualifications: business diploma from Queens College 1986

NVQ level three 2006

Positions held:
2015 to Present Day

Nanny share for two families. Two children who were six months on my arrival, now approaching two, and a five year old.

Daily duties include ensuring safeguarding and the wellbeing of the children are met in age appropriate ways each working day. I plan activities and attend classes with my charges that stimulate and reflect their interests and abilities. Music classes, to stimulate their understanding of rhythm and as a precursor to predictive maths. We have reading time in a daily basis, and I mirror language as the younger of my charges learn to speak, and aid the five year old in following the reading plan set by school. I prepare healthy meals, one of my charges has a dairy and wheat allergy, so I pay close attention to ingredients. I am eppipen trained, and have had to administer it a number of times over the years. I take my charges to soft play, as one has had delayed walking and hyper mobility issues, again this supports the child in overcoming many issues as it is a safe environment. We cook together, observing measurements and volume, I always say that cooking is science!!! We do messy play, we go on nature walks, and I follow plans detailed by each of the two families, as instructed, reporting back daily on events, progress and issues. I’m a very fun nanny, adored by the families I work for and am definitely confident of outstanding references. I explain to the children that my rules are there to keep them safe, so firm but fair would also be an apt statement about myself.

2005 - 2015 Early Years Practitioner, Rainbow Nursery (address on request).

I was responsible for a key group of six (occasionally seven) children aged from 2 years to nearly five. My daily duties consisted of planning stimulating learning experiences to aid the children in age appropriate ways to broaden their understanding of the world about them, science and nature, knowledge and understanding of the world, mathematical understanding, mark making (as the precursor to writing) physical abilities and language and social development. I carried out daily observations and reflected these in portfolios that detailed each child’s learning journey while in the setting. I planned activities leading on from these observations to extend their interest, and grow their understanding.
In every element of my work I am mindful of the Early Years document and it’s importance, and implement it at every given opportunity.

I am SENCO trained, and attended regular training courses as part of my supported development. I attended weekly staff meetings and took and implemented the minutes and agendas for this. I was first aid trained. I have undertaken training courses in working with children with additional educational needs, music leadership, the importance of learning through play, and many more, for which I can provide certification on request.

I currently work in London, where I stay in the week, but would be happy to relocate to work in a setting that reflects my enthusiasm and sensibilities, nearer to my home in Bexhill

I look forward to hearing from you.
Sophie Wright
