About Me

Hi I am an enthusiastic, flexible and reliable young person who is passionate about working with children. I am qualified and have an A* Level 3 Award Certificate and Diploma in Childcare & Education, I am Ofsted Registered, DBS checked as well as Paediatric First Aid trained. I have public liability and professional indemnity insurance. I have always wanted to work with children and have 8 years of experience with children aged from birth - 16 years years.

My Experience

I have 8 years of experience working with children from birth to 16 years. I have experience with babysitting children aged birth - 16 years both during the day in the evening and overnight, this would usually involve, playing with the children both indoors and outdoors, supervising them will they eat and feeding younger children and babies, bathing, changing babies nappies, putting children to bed and rocking babies to sleep etc.

I am work for a family doing at least 3 13 hour shifts a week looking after a 3 year old (just turned 2 wgen i started), I prepare meals, walk their dog and do light house work. I also play with the little girl and do craft activities. I take her out most days to toddler groups, soft plays, the park, library, national trust properties, the farm, the beach and walks. I also bath her and supported in sleeping.

I am currently working for a family doing shift work up to 2 days a week. The hours are between 8-10 hour days, babysitting in the evenings and some overnights. The family have two children aged 7 years and 2 year old (yongest was 8 months when I started). I drop the oldest at school and collet him most days I work then care for him and give him snacks. Whilst their older child is at school I care for their baby. I feed him, bath him, dress him, change him, take him for a walk at nap time. We get out and about most days going to the park, farm, toddler groups, soft plays etc. I have a friend who is a childminder who I often meet with and the children play together.

I worked 4 days a week for a family with two children aged 2 and 8 years old. I helped with morning routines, making breakfast, dressing, cleaning teeth and doing hair before doing the school run while the parents got ready to leave for work. I had sole care of the younger child through the day. Most days we went out and about to toddler groups, the park, the library, swimming, or soft play. I also planned activities to do with both children including baking, painting, messy play, planting bulbs, jigsaws and much more. I prepared meals for the children and supported them with homework and bed time routines when necessary. I started after covid doing school runs and holiday cover, her children were then 6 and 12 years old. Their yongest child recently got diagnosed with autisum. I maily looked after him, I picked him up from school several times a week and look after him until up to 9pm. I also looked after him 1 or 2 full days in the school holidays. We would go swimming most weeks, softplays and the park. He also came back to my home somtimes as he knows my family well and we are close having worked with this family since 2018 (had to take a break over covid due to not being able to work). Recently stopped caring for this child due to changes in family circumstance though we keep intouch.

I did voluntary work for a lady who worked 11.5 hour shifts, she had a baby who turned 1 in May 2022 and a 2 year old (in Feb 2022). I looked after her children from 7:45 am till 7:45 pm 1-2 days a week and sometimes some extra hours in a morning on another day. I took them out for walks, went to soft plays and toddler groups, education activities, messy play and creative activities. Supported in feeding including making bottles and food, bathing, changing, nap times and getting them ready for bed.

I worked for a family on a Monday and a Tuesday for 9.5 hours each day they have 3 children aged 2, 5 and 7. I would in the morning and get the older two children ready for school and drop them off at school, then I look after the 2 year old during the day, taking them out into the community to the park, or for a walk (limited thing to do due to to covid). Educational games and activities, playing in the garden. I also supported them with their self help skills, independence and development. I then would go and collect the older two children from school and make them all tee and winding down time after school. During school holidays I looked after all three children all day on a Monday and Tuesday.

I worked one or two mornings a week for about 4-6 hours a week caring for a child aged 4 with complex non verbal autism, I usually took him out into the community for a walk and took him to the park but sometimes cared for him in his home. I supported him with his communication skills both verbal and non verbal. I also supported him with his physical and social skills. I still somtimes care for him for up to 8 hours at a time when required.

At the church that I go to I have helped out with the young children (0 – 8 years old) during their time together on Sundays. This involves playing with them, doing crafts, songs, stories, snack’s and looking after and feeding the babies. I am now working more with the planning and preparation as well as being with them in their time together. I also helped to run a youth group on a friday night.

I have had some paid employment working as a Pre-school Assistant at a local Pre-school, where I was part of a staff team delivering sessional care and play to children aged 2 – 4 years old. This involved playing with children and supporting them to progress and develop both indoor’s and outdoor’s, setting up activities, carrying out risk assessments, preparing snacks and supervising children eating and drinking, toileting and changing children and supporting them in their self help skills, taking small groups of children outdoors with other staff to area’s of interest in the community. This work was from around 2015-2021 on a casual basis.

I have worked with children aged 1 – 5 years old at a day nursery as part of my placement with college; I attended term time only mostly working full days up to 7.5 hours a day. In total I completed 750 hours of placement. My placement involved playing with children and supporting them to progress and develop both indoor’s and outdoor’s, creating and carrying out activity plans, carrying out a longitudinal study on an individual child, carrying our care routines, mealtimes and helping babies to sleep, supporting the staff team and the children to keep the place clean, tidy, and organised and as risk free as possible by writing a risk assessment.

I have worked as a mothers help, I visited a family once a week helping with the care of their 3 children under the age of 5 from the time the 3rd child was a newborn. I used to attend after school for a few hours until they went to bed as well as having a couple of days with them in the school holidays. During this time I would care for the children whilst their parents did jobs around the house. I looked after the children which included, reading to them, playing with them both indoors and outdoors, supervised them when they eat, bathed them, assisted them to get changed into their pyjamas and put them to bed. I also cared for their baby which included playing with him, changing his nappy and clothes, bathing him, feeding him, giving him his bottle and rocking him to sleep.

My Qualifications

I have childcare qualifications including an NCFE CACHE Level 3 Award, Certificate and Diploma in Childcare & Education (Early Years Educator) which I gained an A* in, NCFE CACHE Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid, Level 2 (BTEC) Children’s Play, Learning and Development which I gained a Distinction* in. I also have some safeguarding training and I am DBS checked.

Bethany has been working with my daughter for a year now and I couldn't ask for a better nanny. Bethany is reliable and is amazing with my daughter. Bethany is professional and works well with my daughter from doing home activities like crafts, jigsaws messy play to outside activies such as swimming, soft play and nature walks. My daughters development has definitely improved massively since bethany has worked with her. Thankyou bethany for everything you have done for me and my daughter.
