About Me
Hi, my name is Shannon and I live in West Allotment with my partner Danny and our 2 year old son. We have a 4 bedroom, detached house with a private garden. I offer a safe, educational and cosy home where the children can learn and grow.
I am a qualified primary school teacher with a First Class Honours in Primary Education therefore my passion sits within educating the children through play and exploration activities which follow their own interests. After gaining my qualified teaching status and working in a nursery I have decided it is time to start my own childminding business where I can have my passion at home with me.
I look forward to taking the children out on trips to places such as the beaches, parks, museums and farms that we have around us as well as local toddler groups. I love to set up open-ended activities which allow the children to get creative whether this be indoors or out.

My Experience
Due to my teacher training I have a range of experiences working with infants up to age 11. I have worked in a range of schools across the North East each being in different age groups. My passion lies within the early years and so this is the area I specialise in.
On gaining my Qualified Teaching Status I was awarded Outstanding for my practise within schools.

My Fees
- Childminding from £5.00 per hour
Half days: £28 (8am - 1pm) or (1pm - 5:30pm)
Full days: £50
Fees inclusive of breakfast, snack and a small tea however parents will need to provide a packed lunch and toiletries.

I found Shannon after I had to take my twins out of nursery because they just hadn’t settled after many months. Shannon was very understanding and set up a very relaxed induction period. Within just a couple of weeks they’d completely settled in. Shannon is kind and gentle and builds such beautiful relationships with the kids. Her set up is perfectly organised with plenty to keep the kids entertained. Her activities are varied and tailored to the children she is working with. My children absolutely loved going to play and learn with Shannon. It was a pleasure to have her in our lives. X

We found Shannon after being let down by our previous childminder.
She was quick to support us and done everything in her power to ensure both us and our son were comfortable and happy within the setting, nothing was an issue.
She was extremely supportive, knowledgeable and helpful so much so that we decided rather than move him to school nursery to leave him in her care where she then supported him to get ready for school in September. We can’t thank / recommend Shannon enough for what she done for our little boy.
She provided us with regular updates through his days with her and even the days he wasn’t she was happy to communicate regularly
