About Me
My name is Victoria O’Brien but everyone calls me Vikki!
I live in Shipley with my husband James and our five children, Cody 16, Tabitha 15, Emily 11, Charlotte 9 and Ben 6. We are an outdoorsy family and love spending time playing in the garden or exploring the local area.
Early Years care and education has always been my passion and I knew from a very young age that I wanted to work with children. Giving young children the very best start in their early life is so vitally important and provides the stepping stones for a successful future.
I am working toward my Hygge accreditation and also follow the curiosity approach.
Hygge (pronounced hue-gah) is a Danish concept that focuses on finding well-being by enjoying the comforts in everyday routines and all that's around you. It's an art of creating feelings of cosiness, happiness, familiarity, simplicity, comfort and anything that brings that warm feeling of contentment you feel inside.
My Experience
I qualified as a level 2 nursery assistant in 2006 just before having my first child.
I decided to go into Childminding so I could be at home with my own children but also return to the job I loved. Through childminding I aim to give children varied experiences through home-based play and by accessing the wider community. We are incredibly lucky to live in an area with such natural beauty and will make the most of this by exploring our natural environment.
My background in Early Years means that I have in-depth knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage, allowing me to provide a safe and caring environment in which your child can grow and develop.
I was inspected by Ofsted in June 2022 where I received a Good grading. If you would like to see a copy of my Ofsted report please let me know.

I charge a rate of £5.50 per hour for under 1’s and £4.50 per hour for over 1’s
