About Me

Hi, my name is Emily!!

I am currently looking for some ad hoc babysitting around Littlehampton and Rustington. I am currently working full time in a local nursery and am free in the evenings and weekends. My previous nanny job was taking care of 2 & 5 year old girls, and I have experience with 6 months to 8 years!

I have loved being around little ones for longer than I can remember, and can usually relate to them a lot purely because I love anything fun! I am bubbly, friendly and firm when needed, but strive to make a child’s day as consistent and fun as possible. My aim is to provide a homely feel for children, and aim to mirror the same approach and disciplines as parents, to ensure the most productive and stable environment.

Having worked in a Montessori nursery and completing my childcare qualification there, I have taken a lot of inspiration from that specific method of learning, and have adapted a very intuitive and child-led approach. I focus heavily on children’s emotions and feelings, and making sure they really feel listened to, (almost like a big sister) whilst still maintaining boundaries.

I have a fun, bubbly personality and really embrace the joys of working with children, whilst providing the safest and loving environment possible. I hope to hear from you soon!

My Experience

I have previously worked in a Boutique, Montessori Nursery in Fulham for almost three years. I was based with children ranging from 18 months to 5 years whilst I was completing my Level 3 Qualification in Childcare via an apprenticeship. In this time, I learnt valuable skills and focused heavily on the practical side of learning and excelled in my first childcare working environment. My daily role included planning fun and educational activities, observing the children and their milestones and communicating these directly with parents and overall making sure that the children had a fun and productive day.

Having completed my training, I then worked up to a management role in the same nursery. My daily role then extended to ensuring the daily running of the nursery was smooth, maintaining positive relationships with all parents, ensuring the wellbeing of all staff members and communicating with other childcare professionals regarding the children in our care. I loved this job and met some wonderful families, with whom I still have contact with now. I left this job after almost three years in the nursery in total, to begin my University degree in Psychology.

Having left the nursery in 2019, I then worked for a family part time with boys aged 5 and 7, based in Fulham. My daily tasks involved picking the boys up from school, taking them to after school clubs, preparing fresh meals for them, helping them with their school work and overall making sure they have a safe and secure environment that they can also have fun in!

Alongside working with this family, I have worked for many families temporarily (mainly due to covid). The children I have worked with range from 8 months to 7 years, and although only working with the families for a short period of time, managed to create close relationships with children and parents, some of whom I am still in contact with now.

My most recent role was as a full time live in nanny, with sole charge of two little girls. In this role, I was charged with general nursery duties, planning and organisation of children’s activities, general children’s admin, holiday prep and overall organisation and smooth running of daily routines.

I am currently working as a full time member of staff in a nursery, caring for children from 3 months to 5 years.

I am more than happy to provide references for any of these families if necessary!

My Qualifications

I have 10 GCSE’s and a Level 3 Childcare Qualification.

I also have Paediatric First Aid Training, Safeguarding Training, and Food Hygiene certificate.

I have an Honours Degree in Psychology from the University of East London

Had a good initial conversation, agreed to a follow up interview in person and then went MIA - no response, explanation or even later communication. Disappointing. Would not recommend.
