About Me
My name is Sarah and I live in Lower Wick with my husband and three sons aged 23, 20 and 13. My home is in a quiet residential area within walking distance of Pitmaston Primary School. We have a lovely Cockapoo, three cats and four chickens. Our home is a welcoming, safe environment where your child can learn through play.
I had my Ofsted inspection in January 2023 and was graded Outstanding in all areas for the second time. I offer funding for babies from 9 months, 2 year olds, as well as 15 and 30 hour free places for 3 and 4 year olds. I am also signed up to the tax free childcare scheme and accept childcare vouchers.
We have a wealth of resources outside and in, and our play areas are organised so children can easily access toys independently to enable them to choose for themselves. We have recently extended our house to include a purpose built play room for the children which leads straight out into the garden.
We like to get out and about into the community every day visiting various toddler groups, forest school, dance classes, music groups, parks, the library, soft play, story time sessions, residential homes for the elderly etc so the little ones have opportunities to interact with new children and adults, and explore different environments.
At home we enjoy painting, making playdough, baking, constructing, dressing up, sharing stories, learning new songs, playing instruments, numeracy activities, small world play and sensory play.
I have a secure rear garden which the children play in every day. Having fitted artificial grass, I have a dry, clean, safe outdoor space which even the youngest children can explore. I have a large undercover area so the children can be outdoors whatever the weather. We have a gardening area where the children can dig, plant, water and grow their own flowers, fruits and vegetables. We enjoy looking after our chickens, hand-feeding them and collecting the eggs each day.
I update parents every day with photographs of their child's activities, and keep parents informed about what we are learning each week.
I regularly assess the children's progress in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage and work with parents to ensure all children reach their full potential. I write termly development reports for parents, detailing their child's next steps in learning, which we are working on here, so parents can help at home with their child's progress. I also use the online learning journal, Tapestry, so parents can log in whenever they like to see photographs and videos of their child's activities during their time with me. When it's time for children to move on, parents can download and keep the journal, which is a really special keepsake and reminder of their child's early years.
I don't provide meals, so I ask parents to send in a healthy lunch box please.

My son has been going to Sarah for a few weeks now for before and afterschool care. He loves going to Sarah's and has settled in really quickly, made to feel welcomed in a home from home experience. Sarah is amazing, great communication with myself and her years of experience really shows in the quality of care she provides.

Sarah has cared for my daughter now for just under a year, and is absolutely amazing. My daughter settled in immediately, as if she had been going there forever! They are constantly doing wonderful activities from libraries, to playgroup and forest school, bringing home various crafts each week as well as new songs they've learnt. I love that they follow a curriculum guideline, learning without realising whilst they play. My daughter is already so well prepared for moving up to nursery in September, and that's all down to Sarah.

Sarah looked after my little girl from the age of 12 months old. Sarah was fantastic with her. She always went above and beyond and took great care of her. My daughter loved going to sarah’s house. She did various different activites with her and also took her out to different groups, and to the library etc. now my daughter is at school sarah collects both my children several times a week. Now i know sarah i wouldn’t use anyone else. Sarahs house is a lovely,clean ,friendly setting and my girls love going to her house after school.

Sarah has been fantastic with both of my boys! We have used the school drop off/pick up service she provides over the past 6 years, and she makes life so much easier. The boys really enjoy spending time at Sarah's - she takes the time to play games with the children, and they're always crafting and baking, which is lovely.
Sarah's home is so welcoming and the perfect setting for the children - the kids love the summer playing in the garden, especially water play! We are really lucky to have Sarah; I have always felt my children are safe and well-looked after in her care. I can't recommend her enough!

Sarah is a genuinely amazing person. She is nurturing, caring, reliable and supportive. She takes the time to get to know our child, she’s patient and understanding of his needs. She’s always there if I need to discuss anything or make any changes.
I can’t praise her high enough!!
We are so lucky to have had her from our child being in reception and he will be with her until the end of year 6.

My little boy settled so quickly with Sarah when he started with her at 18 months, he's always keen to go and join in with the fun! He loves Sarah's animals especially Teddy the dog, and enjoys looking for eggs that the chickens have laid in the garden. I always feel confident that he's happy there and is being very well looked after, and I enjoy receiving daily updates and photos so I can see what he's been up to and how much fun he's having with Sarah and the other children!

This is the first time I’ve used a childminder having sent my other 2 children to nurseries and I am so pleased I found Sarah to look after my daughter. She has been attending since she was 11 months old and I’ve never had an issue leaving her. My daughter has settled so well with Sarah and loves going to all the groups that Sarah takes the children to. I’m always kept updated and love seeing what they have been up to each day. I couldn’t have asked for a better person to look after my daughter, a lovely family home set up where my daughter feels comfortable and safe. I’d recommend anyone to Sarah, it made going back to work so much easier for me knowing how settled my daughter has been.

My daughter has been going to Sarah for 3 years and absolutely loves going there. We use Sarah for before and after school care but so wish we found her sooner for day care. She is amazing with my daughter who can sometimes be sensitive but her kind, caring and amazing personality always comforts by daughter when needed. Sarah has such a lovely home with a variety of activities to cater for all children. My daughter loves playing games and crafting with Sarah and the snacks after school are her favourite. My daughter also loves Sarah’s dog teddy who has the most caring and loving nature and is a fluffy bundle of joy. The only place I would want my daughter to go is here and I am so thankful that that we found you!

Sarah really is one of a kind! She is the most kind caring and friendly person you could ever wish to send your children to. My daughter has been going to Sarah for 4 years and even though my daughter is going to high school next year she insists on still wanting to go there. That says something in itself. Sarah provides a home from home environment with amazing resources, activities and provisions for all children. Ranging from Babies to School age children. Sarah provides breakfast for my daughter in the morning and snacks in the evening after school which always goes down a storm. My daughter also loves a game of Uno with Sarah and often comes home having learnt a new trick to beat us! Sarah’s communication with parents is amazing and you can feel like you can have open communication at all times. I can’t recommend this lady enough and will be so sad when the time comes my daughter leaves this lovely setting and this fantastic childminder.

Sarah has been our daughters childminder since I returned to work from maternity, my daughter was a little over a year old and is now due to start primary school in September 2023. Sarah is absolutely fantastic with our daughter, they pack so much into the days with a beautiful balance of everything from education to pure fun! Couldn’t ask for a kinder, trustworthy person to care for a our precious daughter. Would recommend Sarah to everyone in a heartbeat. We will continue to use Sarah for before and after school.
