About Me
Welcome to Little Badgers Childminding, I'm Emma and have been running this setting since March 2023. I am a mother to two boys, one 6 year old in his third year of school and a toddler of 30 months. I have worked with children for 16 years in a range of environments and cannot wait to start childminding in my own home. I have a wonderful assistant that works with me too, who is level 2 qualified and has worked with children for the past 9 years. A second assistant is set to join in the coming weeks with experience as a mother to two young children.
I live in a lovely house with a designated play room and a large garden with a childrens play area consisting of a trampoline, swing/slide set and mud kitchen. It will be a home from home setting for children and I hope they will feel comfortable, happy and confident in choosing their resources and exploring freely. The house is within walking distance of a play area, woodlands and the heath and only a short drive away from several parks, Kent Life, soft plays and shops. I am happy to provide fresh cooked meals for lunch and dinner and snacks throughout the day, catering for all tastes and allergies.
I pride myself on always having a wonderful partnership with parents and making sure they feel happy with the care I provide for their darling children. I like to make sure parents feel involved by showing daily updates, observations and keeping parents in the loop of our days. I follow the EYFS and make sure that I cover all areas of development to make sure all children can achieve their best. There is nothing better than seeing a child learn something new and knowing that you have shaped their little lives by being there for them and giving them the care, love and attention that they thrive on.
In 2023 I was graded as a Good Childminder with the Tiney Childminding Agency. I joined Ofsted one month later, April 2023, and will be inspected again within 30months.
My Experience
I have been a nanny for 10years, working for many families in that time. I worked for one family for 6 years. I have had newborn experience as a nanny for 3 families, as well as with children up to the age of 15. I have worked for families of different nationalities, with children with additional needs (mostly autism, ADHD, ODD, SPD,) and several families with multiple children. Most recently, I worked in a nursery as the toddler room leader and third in charge of the building. I have completed lots of training regarding safeguarding of children, health and safety and child development to ensure I can always provide the best care for the children. The best experience I have had is being a mother myself.
