My Summary
About Me
My name is Unique Campbell, I’m 23 years old and I have recently graduated from the University of Essex with a Ba in Childhood Studies. My studies have provided me with a wide range of knowledge on childhood and youth. Including extensive knowledge on the EYFS Statuary Framework, the historical development of childhood, the key social policy pertaining to children and key areas of child development.
Growing up with a big family, surrounded by lots of young children, I have always found myself fascinated by the inner world of children. This interest and sense of fulfillment has continued to grow and develop and is the reason I am keen to work within the childcare sector. I believe that I have the drive, confidence and most importantly the desire to help shape the young minds of the world today. I love working with children and always have! I have previous experience with temp nannying and would now like to pursue it full time now that I’ve completed my degree.
I am looking for a nice welcoming family, to build a stable and happy bond with. I will work my hardest to ensure that your child is happy, safe and thriving!
My Experience
Childminder’s Assistant
November 2018 – August 2019
Worked alongside a registered childminder in a domestic premise to provide an extra pair of hands in the caring and supervision of children. I would often help to prepare the children’s breakfast, lunch and dinner and plan and lead different activities in the afternoons. For example, arts and crafts sessions, children’s yoga and reading stations.
Childminder’s Assistant
June 2021 – September 2021
While this role was very similar in many aspects, this role required considerably more responsibility as I would often take the children for one-to-one sessions. During these sessions I would evaluate and observe a child’s level of development based on the EYFS Development Matters. I would have to plan and carry out activities that would determine whether a particular child was at the correct level of development for their age. I would also have to keep records of a child's progress and identify any developmental concerns whether physical or social. While childminding I worked with ages between 6 months and 10 years old.
Graduate Teaching Assistant
January 2024 – January 2024
I previously worked as a graduate teaching assistant in a primary school. As a graduate teaching assistant, my main role was to support children's learning. This was carried out in various ways for example through one-to-one sessions or in class help. These one-to-one sessions were to provide extra support to those who need it, and I was entirely responsible for the planning and preparation of them. I also helped to support the main class teacher by covering lessons during their PPA and setting up equipment and resources needed for the day.
I was responsible for my own phonics group and had taken on an additional role as the computing teacher for lower KS2. I was in charge of planning the lessons as well as delivering them and had also started speech and language sessions with a few children in the school.
Nannying
August 2019 – Present
I often act as a temp nanny during the school holidays for families from both of my previous child-minding roles. While temp nannying, I oversee the children’s entire schedules. I will make a weekly plan detailing lunch and dinner ideas and create and plan both indoor and outdoor activities do that week.
I am currently working as nanny for a family of five, with three children.

A Levels: Sociology (B), Religious Studies (C), Government and Politics (C).
