My name is Shelley, I have been Childminding for over five years and I have ten years experience working as a primary school teacher.
I have worked in nursery and reception classes across a number of different primary schools and have a very good understanding of the early years foundation stage.
I have two children of my own who are aged 11 and 9 and we also own a very friendly Labrador named Blue!
Our day will be planned around the needs of the children I am caring for on a particular day.
We will regularly attend local toddler groups, parks, the library, etc.
I also offer plenty of opportunities for child-initiated play in my safe and secure home as well as planned adult-initiated activities. These will include painting, messy play and crafts, small world play, story and rhyme time, cooking, play-dough... the list is endless!
My Experience
I have been working as a primary school teacher for ten years and have successfully transferred my skills of offering a rich, varied and exciting curriculum to my childminding service which I offer in my own home environment.
As mentioned above, I have experience in teaching year groups from nursery up to year 4. Being a mother to two young boys, I have experience in caring for new-born babies and toddlers. I have a range of experience with working with children who have special educational needs such as autism, global development delay, etc.
I am passionate about providing a home from home environment for your child. I care for other children as I do my own, please do get in touch if you would like to discuss anything further.

BA in Primary Education (specialising in English)
Epi-pen and First Aid trained (paediatric)
Ofsted registered
Recently completed child protection training
DBS checked for myself and my husband who is a police officer
My Availability
I offer...
Full time spaces/part time spaces.
School pick ups and drop offs to Estcots primary school only.
I may consider nursery drop offs and pick ups, please just ask.
A normal working day for me would be from 7:30-5:30pm, I can offer longer hours (although this will be charged at a slightly higher rate.)
I have not long ago had my Ofsted grading, achieving a 'Good' grade across all areas! My report should be accessible on my Childcare page.

Out of hours charged at a slightly higher rate.
Before and after school drop off/pick up charged at £6.50 per hour.
Snacks and drinks are included in the prices above, meals are charged at a small additional price.
Term time and non term time available.
