My Summary

My Experience

For the past year I have gained invaluable experience of being a children's party entertainer. The roles I undertake in my job depend on the needs of the client – this can range from face painting and balloon modelling to organising and overseeing party games. The work I complete with DFY has enabled me to develop excellent interpersonal skills specifically tailored to children of all ages and so, I am able to provide a 'party-like' atmosphere in which the growth of your children is encouraged in a way that is accessible to them. Furthermore, I am a volunteer SEN Assistant within a local primary school. The time I spend at the primary school is spent fulfilling various support roles, from assistance with the students completing their daily sensory diet to aiding children that have been diagnosed with ADHD and others that have Special Education Needs with their academic tasks, such as reading, mental mathematics and assessments. Alongside providing this educational care, due to being a student of psychology, I also volunteer in order to provide emotional support that some children require, due to their own specific needs. As a Special Education Needs assistant in a primary school, I have been able to develop a varying amount of new skills, from establishing the most efficient strategies of communicating with young students that have attention deficit disorders to different ways one can plan and present an educational activity, in a way that is most beneficial to the children. The roles I fulfil at the primary school require patience, knowledge and a genuine want to help these children to reach their full academic, spiritual and personal potential and I believe these are qualities that are important for an individual to make an exceptional nanny. Additionally, I have previously gained experience as a youth gymnastics coach. As a gymnastics coach I assisted the head coaches in the training of youths, from the age of 5-11, in different areas of gymnastics. The role required an all-round knowledge from the technical areas of coaching, such as the most effective strategies of coaching, to the matters of safeguarding. As a result of this role I undertook and gained the Safeguarding Children qualification.
