My Summary
About Me
ORIGINS: I grew up in Chislehurst, Kent, as the eldest of four daughters. My grandmother fostered, adopted and ran a nursery and was a true inspiration and role model.
PASSION: Family time, Animals, healthy eating, theatrical drama, bike rides, fine art and education
APPROACH TO TEACHING: Learning at the right pace, adapting the methods to suit the individual. Plenty of recognition whilst working towards SMART targets and gaining a good group profile. Regular reports (liaison with co workers, parents, school partnerships etc.) and keeping content relevant to their interests has worked wonders too.
PERSONALITY: Mature, level headed and efficient. I am very empathetic towards others and show a great deal of care and commitment to those in need. I enjoy creating fun and laughter and like to entertain.
My Experience
NANNYING: I started caring for three boys under the age of five (youngest being one). Duties included light housework, coordinating developmental interventions (such as motor skills, speech, toddler independency, toilet training and creativity), outdoor trips and helping to prepare meals.
I then moved onto a family of two girls, age 3 and 6 in Blackheath. The youngest required speech therapy and support with her motor development. Working alongside her parents, we practiced interventions suggested and demonstrated by her dedicated support team at Kaleidoscope e.g. learning Makati sign language, exploring sensory play and practicing physio. Her lifestyle continues to be active and I thoroughly enjoyed the adventures we enjoyed together; ice skating, nature trails, museums to name a few! We were just as active indoors; reading, being creative and cooking.
I then worked part time in Kidbrooke, supporting a family (boy age 1) expecting their second child in February 2021.
During lockdown and a breaking period from education, I tutored children and supported families with their home learning, offering services in reading and writing.
On moving to Sevenoaks (Mar '21), I transferred to a family of two active school boys. The parents were very accepting of my son and I provide them with after school and holiday care. They are understanding of my search for a morning role.
PRIMARY: Phonics Interventions Coordinator (1:1 interventions) I now have a diploma that aids this area of support.
SECONDARY: GCSE Support for college students who did not pass in school (often hard to reach or SEN)
FURTHER EDUCATION: Supporting students as a Learning Support Practitioner; managing a diary of up to 13 learners a day with Functional Skill and GCSE math and English interventions.
I became Programme Manager to a mixed "Foundation Learning" class of 11, studying hair dressing/construction. I lectured other Foundation Learning groups and Supported Learning Groups in math and English Functional Skills, along with Employability skills and Enterprise projects.
QUALIFICATIONS: (See below) DBS update service, L4 Certificate in Education, GCSE Maths and English, regular CPD, Diplomas in SEN and Access to HE L3 (covering History, Psychology and Sociology) along with NVQ L3 in Holistic therapy. Now paediatric first aid qualified.
PERSONAL: had been a registered carer to (ex)husband, providing support for autism, epilepsy and learning difficulty. Mother to a four year old boy. Knowledgeable of local toddler groups, nurseries and schools. I am also a holistic therapist (this may interest parents!) and have experience of being a STEM ambassador.

Eleanor looked after our boy from 6 months until 18 months.
She cared for him beautifully.
Always creating games, play, art and safe fun environments.
She cared for him when he was sick with such love and gentleness.
She is so well versed in children's developmental needs and offers ideas and support to the whole family.
We highly recommend Eleanor as a nanny!
Eleanor was tutoring my 3 kids. She would come prepared for the sessions with work books and get on with the work.
Very patient and understanding to the children’s needs and abilities.
The kids really enjoyed the sessions and no two sessions were the same.
Any issues we had with the kids learning abilities she would focus on and more importantly what the child needs were.
Ellie has been working with our family for the last 3 months and continues to be employed by us.
She brings her friendly boy with her which adds a lovely dimension given that my two boys are of similar age, which means that the 3 of them have formed a great friendship and play together on a daily basis.
Ellie is professional, super creative and takes a great deal of initiative, which I, as busy working mum, appreciate and value. She regularly takes the boys out on fun outings and during term time she assists with their homework.
We have a mutually respectful relationship, and she is highly dependable, flexible and understanding.
I have hired a number of childcare professionals over the past years and in my honest opinion Ellie ranks amongst the top of those. I can highly recommend her to any other family looking for a nanny.
Eleanor looked after our daughter during a recovery period after significant brain surgery. My daughter has complex special needs as a result of an illness – Ellie was never fazed by this challenging task. Ellie implemented PT, OT and SPLT programmes while looking after her. She did this in such a way that our daughter happily obliged.
Ellie is a kind and patient person. She really cares for the children she works with. Ellie always thought of fun and interesting things to do. We loved having her around and felt very lucky to have such a wonderful person looking after our daughter in a challenging time for us as a family.
We highly recommend her!
Ellie ( Eleanor) has been our nanny for two months after the C19 lockdown was lifted and she has been a godsend to our family. Ellie and her 4 year old son came to our house for 8 hours every day while my husband and I worked from home upstairs. She has been incredible. My two boys now 1 year old and 2.5 year old, absolutely love her, she was just fantastic with our family.
High level positive traits:
Ellie's creativity, soft spoken and calm demeanor, kindness, patience, professionalism, intelligence, teaching skills and overall perfect nanny.
Description:
Ellie came every week with new craft ideas for my boys - they made organic bird feeders from pine cones, pasta necklaces, animal masks and numerous other incredibly high quality artistic crafts that my boys loved. She regularly baked cupcakes, and helped my boys to understand about food. My 2.5 year old's speech improved immensely over the time that Ellie and her son were here. Ellie took the boys out every day to the parks, our local woods, and she introduced my boys to the local library which they love! The boys had a few bumps when out and Ellie was able to calm them and used her first aid experience to ensure that they were ok, and they always were. I felt really safe knowing that Ellie had the boys wellbeing at the front of her mind. She provided me with an update on the boys every evening and sent photos to me of what they were getting up to throughout the day out and about
Ellie has taught the boys how to play well together and taught me a few strategies for helping them to be great little boys. The house was always left spotless at the end of the day, and even when interrupted by me or hubby during the day Ellie was super professional and supportive.
Her son being with her added a dimension that I loved, it gave my 2.5 year old a friend in the Covid 19 pandemic and they have such a great relationship now. Her son was just the politest, kindest and wonderful little boy - he really helped to show my 2.5 year old how to play with our "baby" and my little boy developed a lot around things like toilet training, and being a "Big Boy" (his words) through following Ellie's son's example.
As a nanny Ellie was just perfect, she was like Mary Poppins to our family teaching us all things we didn't know we didn't know. Ellie is soft spoken and kind, her creative skills, her singing and reading are just brilliant - her cleverness, patience and ability to be calm in every situation is a fantastic trait, and the genuine love she showed to my boys means that we hope to always stay in touch and treat her son as a cousin that we hope to always be in contact with.
I was so delighted that I found Ellie on here and the support that she gave to my family has been invaluable.
MasterCard don't do nannies but if they did they would be Ellie.
Massive thank you to Ellie for all her help!
Note: My children's "normal" childcare arrangements were closed from March until September and that is the only reason that we didn't keep Ellie forever. We had agreed they would return to their childminders in Septembers when they reopened. If my husband and I were back working in our office we would have considered Ellie as our main childcare provider as she was just so wonderful.
