About Me
My name is Melanie and I am an Ofsted registered child minder based in Queen Anne Avenue. I am relocating from Orpington to Bromley at the end of July. I live less than a 5 minute walk from Bromley South station.
I will have places from September and accept all funding and tax free childcare.
I co-mind with another Ofsted registered childminder and we work with an assistant too . Her setting is at BR5 3AS.
We believe in learning through play and spend lots of time outdoors on adventures at National Trust, English Heritage and many other places such as Chatham Dockyard, zoos and beaches.
We believe that a happy, physical child is one that will learn from their surroundings and being outdoors, not in a one room setting. Interaction with the world and people is key to their development
We obviously spend time at home too and have a garden and playroom with lots of toys.
We are both a member of Pacey (previously NCMA) and Bromley Mencap Childminding Network.
We are available for after school care for children attending Holy Innocents Catholic Primary School in Orpington, but from September 2025 I will have after school places for St Mark's or possibly Highfield
For the babies and toddlers, we ensure they have every opportunity to develop great communication skills along with social and emotional skills and encourage strong physical development.
We follow all Covid-19 guidelines and expect the families we work with to do the same to ensure the safety of us all.
We provide healthy home cooked meals and snacks. These are mainly Hello Fresh or Green Chef.
By placing your precious one into our care you will be able to go to work knowing they are in safe hands and will have lots of activities planned for them.
After getting to know your child we are then able to provide activities and experiences relevant to them.
We work closely with parents to ensure that your child feels happy,secure and loved whilst in your absence.

My Experience
I have 2 sons of my own and have been a child minder since 2010.Many of the children I have looked after since the age of 6 months until they have started school. I have also looked after their siblings.
My Qualifications
Level 3 in Childcare
Level 3 in Child Development
Level 2 in Children and Young Adults mental health
Level 2 in Nutrition and Health in the Early Years
Food hygiene
Child Protection and Safeguarding
Pediatric First Aid
I have studied child psychology.
I have attended many local authority childcare courses- certificates available on request.
I have also completed Bromley Mencap training to work with children with special educational needs and disabilities.
Currently studying Level 3 in Psychology
