About Me
Hi I’m Jemma, Mummy of three, and wife, Iam an enthusiastic & a positive person, I love socialising and enjoying the great outdoors, Long walks, the odd run and doing bounce classes!, keeping healthy and active is a must for me.
I decided to become a childminder as I enjoy looking after children, it’s so rewarding and I love the fact that I’m helping little people gain so much in the early years of their lives.
To be apart of this and watch them grow is amazing.
My setting is a home from home feel. I keep my setting small in regards to the spaces I have available so that I can care for all children with ease. I take my mindees out every morning to playgroups, libraries for sing and rhyme, parks, soft plays & more, I set up activities for children at home too, crafts, painting, making art and music. Singing and dancing!.
So they socialise and learn about the world, and grow in confidence.
I follow the EYFS curriculum, there are 7 areas of learning, I will work with your little ones with the 3 prime areas initially these are as follows:-
•Physical development
•communication and language
•personal, social, & emotional development.
Concentrating on independent learning, encouraging children to be involved, engaging, creative and self aware, incorporating all the 7 areas as they develop and grow.
>I live in New Eltham, 5 minutes walk to train station, we’ve been here as a family for 13 years now!.
My Experience
OFSTED REGISTERED CHILDMINDER- I have full childminding training and full paediatric first aid so I’m all up to date.
I would encourage parents to meet me in person, for a short meeting and you will see the care I give, and also witness how Iam with children if you visit in my working day. It’s a feeling you get!.
I’m now two years into starting my own childcare business and I’m gathering experiences needed to provide the best possible environment for your little ones to grow and develop & I’m enjoying the process.
I’ve got a good knowledge of the Childminding world as I have 3 close friends who I’ve spent time with whilst they work & when visiting playgroups and day trips out and enjoying fun activities as I used to go along with my youngest son. They have become my childminding network and support. I’m always adding to my personal development with online courses and webinars to broaden my knowledge and Strengthen my business further.
I have three children of my own, my eldest is my daughter she’s 15 and I have two sons 12 & 6, I have lots of nieces and nephews too. So lots of baby and kiddie experience, my Dad and step mum also fostered and adopted special needs children so I have a wide knowledge of children’s needs. In my experience I feel it’s important to nurture children & keep them safe, and build their confidence and their learning will flourish.
I’m always up to date with all changes that’s happening within the child care requirements.

We have complete trust in Jemma when we entrust her with the care of our daughter. Jemma has been our childminder for over 6 months and has been an amazing. Her communication is great, we receive daily updates as to our daughter’s daily progress. Our daughter adores Jemma she encourages lots of playtime as well as learning with the development of her phonetics, reading and writing skills. Jemma child care space is immaculately clean & tidy and fully appropriate for childminding. We couldn’t ask for more.

My little one has been going to Jemma since January. I was so anxious about her going to a childminder as prior to this she'd only ever been looked after my ourselves or our parents. However, Jemma put lots in place for me to help me feel less anxious in the run up. She settled so well and now as soon as I drop her off in the mornings she just runs in without saying goodbye! She always has lots of fun at playgroups, doing crafts or just enjoying the toys! We've also noticed a big difference in her communication since she started.
I really recommend Jemma!
