About Me
My name is Heather Orton, I'm married with grown up children and a beagle dog.
I began childminding after I had my first child, 20 years ago, and think it is the most rewarding job in the world.
My husband is also an Ofsted registered childminder and works with me full time, giving the children the advantage of a positive male and female role model.
We do a range of activities with the children, including cooking, Gardening, tots group, park play, creating, yoga, mindfulness, construction and Spanish lessons. We follow the EYFS framework (the same as nurseries), using the children’s interest to inform our planning. We have an allotment that is within walking distance which the children enjoy visiting and helping in.
The children that i have cared for in the past are a valued part of our extended family.
I drop off and pick up from Hinckley Parks School, and St Peters School and am based on Mount Road in Hinckley.
We also offer school holiday cover for EYFS children, as many preschools are term time only.
I have lots of childcare qualifications including: paedatric first aid, food hygiene, Level 3 Diploma in childcare and young peoples workforce. (the new version of the NVQ3)
Ofsted inspected in September 2018 and graded as a "Good" childminder.

I could never thank Heather & Ady enough for what they’ve done for my daughter, she’s confident, smart, funny and just a really well rounded young girl and that’s definitely down to Heather & Adys help. She’s been with them 3 years now and I’m so pleased I chose them to care for her while I was at work. They definitely open their home and their hearts up to all the children that stay with them with all the benefit's of age based learning along the way. By far the best people in my eyes!

Heather has been amazing with my little girl, from day one she has been so supportive to me as a parent and also to my little one whilst she has been settling in... i have chosen heather as she genuinely cares about each child in her care her house is fully kitted out with everything you could want ... they also attend playgroups and go on outings and have Spanish class! Fantastic childminder 5***** :) we also receive a newsletter and communication is great! I cant comment on food because i send a packed lunch :)

When you meet Heather, you'll soon understand why I rate her so highly.
From my first meeting, I knew that my little boy would be safe, cared for and have a great starter in life with Heather. From learning to write, share, read and sing, to makaton and even Spanish..he's had quite the learning journey and even taught me the odd thing along the way. Well...he's since left Heather's and now happily settled in school and loves it. He was more than prepared and ready for the next steps. I am ever so grateful for the support, guidance and help we have had.
Now Heather has my little girl full time, and I know I've never felt so safe knowing she is in great hands. I would highly recommend Heather.

Heather and Ady are brilliant...I picked her from this site for my son and it was the best decision I made. They interact, play games, take him to a tots group twice a week not to mention outdoor play. Couldn’t ask for two nicer people to look after my boy whilst I’m working
