My Summary
Nanny/Housekeeper/Baby-Sitter
About Me
I am a nanny/housekeeper - I’m warm, caring, hardworking & conscientious. I work with care & high attention to detail to keep a home clean, tidy & immaculately presented. I am discreet, confidential, flexible, approachable, friendly, and positive with a sense of humour and always aim to please. I interact well with children & people at all levels, and work sympathetically when principals are home. I love playing & caring for children and animals, who I warmly & patiently guide in good fair discipline & manners using compassion, consistency & negotiation.
I love cooking, food preparation, shopping, packing, running errands, admin tasks and can manage a household budget and expenses.
I'd be willing to travel with the family if required helping with housekeeping and childcare.
My Experience
Currently I work 30 hours a week as Nanny/housekeeper looking after a 5 year old boy, school runs, trips out, preparing his food & looking after the house including 2 large dogs. This gives me some flexibility for other adhoc nanny & babysitting work & before school care & holiday cover. Previously I was a full time housekeeper for a family. I worked in collaboration with the principals and nanny to care for the 3 children. I am responsible for the house at all times including whilst they are away. I carried out all tasks to manage the house & keep it tidy and clean; including laundry, ironing, re-organisation, replenishment of water, soaps etc, shopping, preparation and cooking of family meals, childcare, driving the family to appointments, cutting and arranging flowers, dealing with household pests, seasonal decorations, helping with parties. Prior to this I've worked for UHNW principals as a housekeeper in a prestigious country estate, in a large rectory, a luxury holiday company and in other smaller family homes where I've also carried out childcare, driving children to school, dog walking and care of family pets. I also carried out occasional over-weekend companionship caring for an elderly lady. I have where appropriate trained new staff and checked the work of colleagues, including carrying out the final checks and error correction, prior to hand over to customers in the luxury holiday lets.
All workplaces have informed me that I work with total commitment, to a very high standard with an eye for detail.
I am an active outdoors person, who loves the countryside and I cycle, run and horse ride. I love to carry out children's arty projects and play games and generally have fun (including inventing fun meals) and to motivate and inspire them.
I am an animal lover and have ridden and looked after horses, dogs and other small pets most of my life. I also work as an occasional volunteer for Riding for the Disabled. In the past I have worked in a deli, restaurant and for a wedding and party catering company, so have some past experience waitressing, dressing tables and food preparation.
Prior to March 2019 I worked for 35 years holding positions of trust and confidentiality as a Finance Manager, processing HR and payroll information, managing school budgets and managing small teams of staff; including target setting and carrying out appraisals.
I had a career change to Housekeeping, to use my love of working with people, children and animals and in order to be more active.
I have both a DBS and a volunteer workers DBS. I have paediatric first aid. I have many references available. I am mum to a 24 year old & had pets all my life.
My Qualifications
DBS & additional volunteer DBS. paediatric first aid.
AAT/NVQ4 in Finance, GCSE/O'levels in English, maths, Biology, RSA communication and Typewriting.
