About Me

My name is Helena, I am 30 years old and I am looking for work in Hackney/Islington, London. I am based in StokeNewington N16. I have always enjoyed caring for others, coming from a family of eight, I have looked after my siblings for many years which is the reason why I went to university and chose to pursue a career working with children. I have just completed my Masters which is in Leadership in Education.

I have experience teaching children Phonics, Maths, English and Nutrition (how to prepare basic meals and hygiene safety) as well as helping children with their homework after school.
Whilst working within a school, I built childrens independence and confidence through physical activities outside of school such as, football training, athletics etc. Through these trips I was able to encourage the children to learn basic safety awareness skills such as road safety, social awareness and friendship building through The Buddy System.

I aim to continue to nurture children's growth and development, my passion in life has always been to help the younger generation to achieve their full potential. I have always received positive feedback from parents and other professionals at the organisations I have worked for. The reason I chose to be a Nanny rather than continuing working within educational institutions is because I would like to build and maintain a rapport with the children rather than this altering at the end of the academic year. I have been working with families as their private nanny for the past three years. I have worked with babies and children of all ages.
