A home from home setting that encourages learning through play and outdoor adventures!
I’m Katie, a registered childminder based in Sutton, St Helen’s. I am registered through TINEY, an Ofsted approved childminder agency. All tiney childminders go through rigorous training & receive regular inspections once a year. Tiney received Ofsted's highest grading.
Here at Wildflowers we have a large child friendly back garden with a mud kitchen, and a summerhouse that the children can enjoy as their outdoor learning classroom and playroom.
Wildflowers is a brand new intimate childminding setting with a small ratio of children, offering a highly personalised approach for each child. I am able to build excellent relationships with children, parents and carers.
The curriculum at Wildflowers focuses on promoting independence, confidence and creating a love for learning! Children are intrinsically curious learners. My goal is to cultivate their natural desire to learn. I carefully observe the children and build curriculum based on their interests and the EYFS.
Our Wildflowers enjoy many outdoor adventures, days out and attend weekly classes such as story time at the local library and forest school! Each year we take part in the 1000 hours outside challenge, that encourages our Wildflowers to stay fit and healthy through being active, getting outdoors and spending minimal time with screens. We go outside everyday rain or shine!
Our Daily rhythm includes breakfast, circle time where the children will come together to read a story and go over the plan for the day, they will then enjoy some free play before we head out on our morning adventure, we will then have lunch before nap / rest. The children will enjoy a snack and free play / afternoon activity, school run & afternoon tea and then we will all gather for end of day reflection time before collection.
Each day is different depending on the children, the weather and pre planned outings but this is just an idea of a day in the life of a Wildflower.

My Experience
I am an educated childcare professional with more than 10 years of experience, working with children from birth to 12 years of age in a variety of home, nursery and school settings.
I have strong working knowledge of child development, understanding the appropriate milestones that children should be reaching, and supporting this by relevant learning styles and independent learning. I have full understanding of the national curriculum, the early year’s foundation stage and other basic learning programs.
I have previously worked as a career nanny for families of multiples, and this took me all over the world. I have lived in London, NYC, and Italy! During my time as a nanny my passion for child development and home learning grew. I love being able to create learning opportunities for children based on their interests and hobbies.
I have worked as an early years educator in a private day nursery and as a 1-1 teaching assistant in a primary school.
All this experience has been invaluable and made me the true professional that I am today.
It’s been my long-time dream to create something important and meaningful. Something that has a lasting impact on the lives of others. What I love most about working with children is watching each child discover their own strengths and talents. I love to engage with children and support each family in the best way possible.
Wildflowers tiney home nursery is a result of this dream, a combination of the best educational approaches supported by carefully selected materials, and the spirit of community.

I feel so lucky we have found Katie to look after our little boy Kiansh.I always feel content whilst leaving for work knowing he is in the best care and having the best time exploring and learning in her lovely garden and outhouse. At wildflowers, they are always up to something, whether that’s natural play, arts & crafts or days out etc! He comes home happy & content . The communication is brilliant , we are updated with photos & how our little boy is going through his day/week.Katie takes them out on most days, park,outdoor adventures ,toddler mornings etc . His independence, awareness of
the world in general and social skills have improved since he began with wildflowers tiney nursery. Katie quickly got to know his little ways,when he needed naps, etc . Her house and childminding facilities are amazing ,I would recommend to anyone !! 10/10 care
