Hello!

We are looking for a playful, warm and loving person to build a secure relationship with our two girls (Eliza aged 6 and Alice, turning 4 in October) and provide regular part-time term time childcare support for our family.

(We would also be interested in your support during the school holidays if you are available. This could be for similar or more hours than the term time arrangements - to be discussed.)

Our family has employed three nannies previously (each for several years at a time before they left to pursue other interests) and can provide references to confirm we are a highly supportive and flexible employer.

Responsibilities would include collecting Alice from a local nursery (20 mins walk from our hours), meeting Eliza at home (from a school car pool drop off), supporting the girls in after school activities like creative play (either separately or together), making a healthy dinner, supervising reading, and then taking the girls through their usual bedtime routine.

Our girls are intelligent, fun, imaginative and loving. They are also highly energetic (Eliza in particular) and very tuned into their emotions! Eliza has just been diagnosed with ADHD and she is also autistic. Her profile is what used to be called "high functioning" and she is very skilled at masking during the school day, but this takes a heavy toll on her energy and as a family we are working hard to support her in being able to identify and communicate her emotions and needs, to help her be as regulated and happy as possible.

We are hoping to find someone that wants to connect with and understand both Eliza and Alice and who is interested in building nurturing and supportive relationships with them both - to eventually become a trusted adult and role model in their lives.

You would be working with a highly supportive and engaged family - working alongside me (Annie). I have recently left a corporate career (in which I had extensive experience of people management, leading teams and operating in complex environments) in order to be able to devote more time and emotional energy to supporting our family. I am passionate about properly valuing "heart intelligence" work such as childcare and the caring professions. I am retraining myself as a breathwork therapist and eventually aim to build a local practice supporting the community using this modality. I also am autistic myself and one of my many special interests is creating supportive relationships in all areas of life - family, friends, colleagues and the wider community - so I would love to work together with you to meet all our goals!
