My Requirements
We are looking for a great nanny to start 1st Sept.
My name is Christine, and I am the mother of 2: my daughter, who is 6 and my son who is 3.5 years. We are looking for someone experienced with children and available to start 1st September.
We are based in Victoria / Pimlico. Ideally, you are very nearby!
The position is 35-40 hours M-F but we can discuss this!
Start date: asap. Ideally you would come a few times prior possibly for ad hoc babysitting to get to know the kids and our household.
What is important to us:
- Experience with children this age: you have years of experience with 3-6-year-old children. Prior primary school teachers are a particularly great fit in our experience.
- Reliability and consistency: You show up on time everyday to work. Absences are planned 2+ weeks in advance so that we can find cover. You do not have ongoing commitments during the week that force you to miss work or leave early. Unplanned sick days happen for everyone, of course, but these are very rare occurrences.
- Safety first at all times.
- Happy to look after two children: You are comfortable and effective at doing this.
- No phone time with the kids unless for essential calls/ messages; the focus is on the kids and engaged playing. You agree to no screen time for the kids and no multi-tasking phone time watching the kids and having personal calls.
- You are happy to support our children in learning. Doing homework with them and facilitating learning with teachers to help build their skills and confidence.
- You are happy to go with the flow. We value your knowledge and input to improve things while following a certain routine for the kids.
- You love kids and exhibit warmth, care, and kindness to them at all times. This does not mean you do not discipline them; children need to understand right from wrong, and we should not let kids do "whatever".
- You are a kind person. Our home is our sanctuary; we want everyone to be calm and get along well. We value the person coming into our home and respect her. We do not accept rudeness or aggressiveness.
