About Me
Hello, I’m Claire and I’m an Ofsted registered childminder living in the Royston area of Barnsley. I have 15 years experience as an infant school teacher and moved to Barnsley in 2015 having previously lived in the Wakefield area. I have 1 child of my own and my dad also lives with me and is fully DBS checked. He is a retired music teacher who has a love for gardening. My aim is to provide a safe, welcoming, caring and stimulating family environment where children feel happy and relaxed to enjoy themselves and learn in a home from home setting. Whether they are building sandcastles outside in the sandpit, making cups of tea in the mud kitchen or visiting local parks they are having fun – exploring, investigating and learning through play. Outdoor play can be accessed in our fully enclosed garden with the use of large physical equipment, outdoor games and resources.
Children also enjoy regular trips to the local parks, the library and places of interest associated with our themes or the children’s interest.
I provide a high quality childcare service, which ensures children’s safety and well-being is paramount at all times. I am an Early Years setting and don’t offer wrap around care.
My Experience
I qualified in 2004 as a primary school teacher and have 15 years infant teaching experience as well as being a Key Stage leader for 5 years. Within school I have taught children in EYFS up to Year 4. I am always striving to continue my professional development and I'm currently taking new courses to ensure I am up to date and can provide the best quality care at all times. My qualifications include BA (Hons) English with QTS, Paediatric First Aid, Early Years Designated Safeguard Lead, Level 2 Food Hygiene, Level 3 SENCo for early years and up-to-date training associated with childcare and Ofsted requirements.

I am open Monday - Thursday 7.30am to 5.30pm
